For one thing, I appreciate the efforts of everyone who posts in Shave of the Day, and hopefully, I don't need the "Thanks Tab" to express that! I see us as a Brotherhood... A kind of "Mad Monk Squadron" that enjoys each others photos and razor porn.

For another, I've been thanked thousands of times and never expressed an original or helpful thought to add to the knowledge base of the straight shaving community. Frankly, the number of times I had been thanked embarrassed me... As if I was adding to the helpful and thoughtful posts.

To my way of thinking, I'd be much more comfortable with no "Thank You" button whatsoever... If I'm helped with a query or a novel idea, I'll express that in my post. It removes some pressure as how the other guy will perceive my gratitude... So, for me, it's a plus!

To once again use my absolute favorite mantra... Less is More!
    As always... YMMV

    EDIT..

As an added thought for the Moderators, please feel free to reset my "Thanks" and "Thanked" numbers to zero. I say this with no malice or hard feelings whatsoever... I'd just feel more comfortable without them.
I would like to thank you 1000 times if I could for this post because it exactly reflects my way of thinking ...I couldn't have put it more eloquently myself Bill...you pulled the words right out of my mouth.

    For that: Thank you

Guys: Let's get right to business and have fun and forget about "thanks"...whether it is here to stay or removed forever, who cares?

The THANK YOU has been removed from the SOTD as it was overly used. The 'Thank You' system was implemented so members could eventually be ranked for their knowledge and participation in the whole forum (by looking at the amount of 'Thank You' received). Basically a new member joining the SOTD can suddenly have more 'Thank You' numbers in a month as opposed to a member that has been around SRP for years.

I agree whole heartedly...if there is a chance of resetting the numbers, put me on the list please.

...and that is exactly the reason why I felt uncomfortable with my numbers. Thank you Max and the SRP for doing this. Now, we can enjoy SOTD for what it really is. And hopefully, this won't discourage any posters here to decide not posting anymore.

Thanks to all for all your efforts and great SOTD photos this past week. If you appreciate my work, no "THANKS" please... Offer two demerits, or twenty lashes with a wet noodle... Whichever you would prefer.

First week without my friend Bruce (Stroker), and I miss his presence...

    Love the shot José
The way you have composed the shot is very creative...That coconut reminds me of the VLA (Very Large Array) in new Mexico; "ET, Phone home"

Default Week of November 7 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor/Blade: Vintage Deluxe HD / Lord Platinum
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Überlather: Al Raz' Custom Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: A.R. Harris After Shave Milk
    Cologne: Floïd Spanish EDT
Result: After a 6 mile hike this morning with my better half (more like 90%), I felt the need for a simple DE shave. Three passes later; a satisfyingly smooth and BBS shave. Perfect for what's sure to turn into a busy (yet enjoyable) Saturday with the rest of the family.

The Thanks is gone. See you abuse it you loose it!

Or like your mother use to say. If you keep playing with it your gonna go blind!
Thank you Max. Life just made simpler.
