Post Week of November 7 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 5/8" J.A. Henckels #50, Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger
Überlather: CarrieM Blood Orange Shave Creme + Mama Bear's Myrrh Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floïd Italian Amber
Result: Today was the Henckels turn to shine...And shine she did. Despite her small size (well...at least for me), she packs quite a punch; equipped with one of the meanest and wickedly sharp edges in my collection (which I can proudly claim credits for ), she effortlessly mowed the 1-day old stubble. CarrieM's Blood Orange was the perfect prelude to today's shave. The Trumper moisturizer/Floïd mix was a super finish to a super smooth shave. As Max puts it: "Big smile on my face".

    Guys,

    THANK YOU!!!

I really appreciate the follow up on the quoting and replying in the SOTD.

The SOTD looks so much cleaner, organized, faster and easier to follow. I'm sure you have to agree on this.

It just shows you how efficient we are as a group and how much we take pride in our SOTD forum. We are all part of making the SOTD our home.

    Default Monday Morning Shave

PREP: Hot shower with hot towel
    RAZOR: Genco "Easy Aces"
    BRUSH: PJ3
SOAP: C.O. Bigelow with a shot of Kiss MY face for good measure
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers Superhazel
    ASB: CarrieM's Unscented
    AS: Clubman Original
    EDT: Thierry Muglar "cologne"
    RESULT: CLEEEEAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!

I loved this combo today; Seeing Robert's Easy Aces yesterday made me want to take mine out for a spin and she delivered as always. Made my beard growth vanish into thin air. The C.O. Bigelow SC was my first "real" shave cream I had ever bought when i started my wet shaving career, and to be honest I have neglected it for almost 6 months(my rotation of vetiver soaps and creams took hold of me ) but today I got her out and whipped up a glorious lather and I feel soo smooth and no irritation whatsoever, so Im sure It is going back into rotation . Also I felt sooo clean afterward I needed my "clean" cologne so reached for Thierry Muglar's "cologne" If u ever want to feel like fresh coming straight out of the shower Irish Spring clean this is the EDT for u, After a hard weekend worth of work Im ready for a Monday to relax and get things back in order.

PICS LOOK OUTSTANDING TODAY AND YESTERDAYS GENTS HAVE A GREAT ONE !!!!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Truefitt & Hill
Soap: Truefitt & Hill 1805 + AOS uncented Pre-Shave oil
    Strop: RupRazor The Filly
Razor: 15/16 F. Fenney Tally-Ho Adamantine Edge No 1 (with beaufitul patina)
    AS: none needed...

This IS my most priced razor. It came with the original box and horn scale. I finally honed her up yesterday to wake her from her long slumber. With 100 laps on the Filly, she is ready to do what it was forged to do +160 years ago. The shave was smooth and effortless. The blade edge just glides right alone my face with the most amazing confidence!! Love them old Schifield metals.

    Gillette Old Type w/ Sharpedge
    New Forest 2201
    Coates Sandalwood sc (original)
    Thayers Cucumber WH w/ aloe
    Speick a/s
    Nivea Extra Soothing a/s balm
Czech & Speake No. 88 Edt

A big workout this AM left me thinking about not shaving but I decided to go with the Coates and the Old Type to attack my three day growth. The Coates always works for me and I like using the more aggressive Old Type when I haven't shaved in a while. Three passes and a BBS result made the effort worthwhile. The C&S finish is just terrific. Geeze...it's 1:24 already...where has the day gone?
