The bone scaled Genco wedge is the latest member of my regular 7 day "modernprofile wedge" rotation. I shave every day and am blessed with smooth, tight skin, yet a super fast growing wiry beard.I find this type of razor is the fastest thing ever for me. I have a fine shave with them down to 12 minutes! It is almost like they are on "auto pilot"! I will be sharing all 7 similar with you in my next 7 posts! Thanks and have a Great Day!
Wowww...nice gift and great Genco. I eagerly look forward to seeing the next 6 posts...now, you have the interest peaked

BTW...Nice photo of winter wonderland. Reminds me of how it looked like here before Christmas. But chains? Jeez...That snow must have been pretty deep. I haven't seen or heard of anybody needing to install chains on their auto since the 1950s.
Good to know Monroe. I may try that next.

CHP (Calif Highway Patrol) was stopping ALL cars and requiring chains to go beyond ~5K feet. And you needed it for sure...the roads were not just snow covered, they were part ice (I do enjoy driving in snow...sick, I know...especially when you know you have a 100 ft of drop on one side). One of the main highways going to lake Arrowhead/Big Bear (Hwy 330) collapsed the week before due to heavy rains (see picture...we obviously went another route)

Fantastic shave. Great hardware choice and although I have never tried Musgo real, its combination with MWF is bound to be heavenly

Thanks Marc...you are too kind. The scales have personality (not wife's favorite), but I have to be careful when closing the blade as it tends to catch the toe.

    Prep:Hot Shower
    Brush:H.L.Thater 23mm
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle 50 laps
    Scuttle: SRD
    Cream: J.M. Fraser Mosswood
Razor: E. Barnes Inimitable worked by A. Jacques (Philadelph)
After shave: Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood
    EDT: Polo Blue

Result:I saw this razor in the classifieds and had to snag it. This is a very hefty razor with a nice smiling edge to it. The razor went through my beard as if it wasn't even there, like wiping lather away. I did get a bit of irritation on the left side of my neck (probably from misjudging the angle of this beast). A very enjoyable shave non the less. Great posts today gentlemen!

I spent a few hours on Sunday doing restoration work and some honing in the evening and just never got around to shaving. I haven't missed a Sunday post in a while, but on the bright side I'll have a couple of new razors to show you guys in the next few days.
    Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
    Prep: Warm Shower/Hot Towel
    Strop: Illinois 835
    Brush: Comoy Badger
Razor: Custom Simmon's Barbers Pet 5/8
    Soap: Col. Conk's Bay Rum
    A/S: David Craig Bay Rum
Result: My face feels smooth with no irritation but unfortunately the edge is starting to go on this one, just starting to pull a little. Better pull out the hones tomorrow, I've got a couple that need touching up now.
Have a great week boys, thanks for all the great posts and pics already.

Torrey "Army" | Kanayama (Fresh off the Oozuku Suita) | Martin de Candre + Bomb Boheme + Glycerin | Semogue LE 2010 (#66) | Thayer's Rose | CarrieM ASM | Dawn Spencer Hurwitz's Sandalo Inspiritu

What a way to start off 2011. I took this Torrey back to the stones. I opted for the Oozuku Suita as a finisher and today she delivered. I got an incredible BBS in two passes with nary a nick, pull, weeper or bit of irritation. This is what a straight shave is supposed to be!

Thank you to all of the SOTD brotherhood for all your inspiration and for sharing the beauty of your lives, families and shaves over the past year. I look forward to seeing your continued greatness this year!
