Thanks Blugill. She is not that big (just a 7/8"), but fabulous shaver

Great looking blade Glenn. And totally understandable and obvious why you had to snag it. Enjoy it my friend.

    Justin,
Beautiful FON indeed...but did the Purist just not deliver or did you just simply get bored and wanted to try something else?

    Grant,
Great looking blade. Can't wait to see you showcase the ones you did.

I honed this razor back in July or August and thought I had got it right then. Today's shave showed what a difference a few more months of practice can make. The shave was smooth and satisfying.

YEEEAAAAAHHHHH Glenn. That's the ticket laddy - practice, practice. That's exactly the reason why I appreciate Max, Glen, Lynn (and countless others) for their master honing skills...1000s of blades have gone through their hands. Makes me look like a wanna-be.

    Keep having fun

Post Week of January 2 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 6/8" Respecto #77, Full Hollow, Round Point
Brush: 23mm Simpson "Chubby #1", 2-band, Super Badger
Soap/lather: D.R. Harris "Arlington" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: D.R. Harris After Shave Milk
    Cologne: D.R. Harris Marlborough EdC
Results: Amazing shave this AM. I hadn't used my Respecto in a long time and it was time to rectify this oversight. I touched up her edge on the JNat and she was good to go. The D.R. Harris Arlington soap is an amazing soap and provided the thick and slick and super moist lather I have come to love. Three passes later, I am feeling gooooooooood and, as Monroe would like to say: "smelling good" too . Now, since I am not going to work until January 6th, I just have to figure what to do with myself for the rest of the day (I have two UPS packages that should arrive today ).

Hot Shower on a cold morning
Stephan's Conditioning shave cream rubbed into the whiskers
    Warm Oil
    Hannah Ceramic Bowl
    Badger Brush
    Castle Forbes Lavender
    SRD Premium 1 25 felt, 50 leather
    Double Duck, 7/8 full hollow
    AOS Aluminum
    Pinaud Lavender AS
    Vaseline for men.

I did not have to work today. I was cold this morning so I showered and shaved a bit earlier than normal. The hot shower was welcoming and the shave was spectacular. I added a few drops of glycerin to the Castle Forbes which normally provides a rich, thick lather. Add a little glycerin and it is like putting whipped cream on your face.
The Big duck shaves so smoothly I only did a 2 pass today. It does feel big in my hands because I don't usually shave with a big blade but it is a pleasure to shave with.
I am now on my way to my favorite Diner to get a large bowl of Onion Soup. One of my favorite things to enjoy on a cold day.

    Enjoy the day.
