    Default Red Imp SOTD

    Wonderful work this week, Guys!
I ran my Case 132 Imp this AM and brought it along to work for it's yearly tweaking. Great bevel on it and it comes out and really performs awesome every 10 days or so. I can depend on it!

    Default TUESDAY MORNING SHAVE

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub
    RAZOR: Goldseal JR.
    BRUSH: Simpson PJ3
UBER: Uber with l'occitane cade soap with KMF unscented cream
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers Lavender
    ASB: Skinfood
    EDT: Guerlain Habit Rouge
    RESULTS: EXCELLENT SMOOTH SHAVE....

First chance trying the l'occitane cade soap, and I can see what all the fuss is about , I need to pic me up some cream to match this, it truly is awesome stuff. The blade always performs for me and finishing it off with Habit Rouge is a treat.

Great choice of soap/creme/ASB Fonti and fabulous looking Friodur. The Cade balm is one of the best I have tried. Really realxing, moisturizing and great scent.

I finished restoring this razor weeks ago, but it was one of those razors that was such a PITA to hone that I put it down in frustration and walked away several times. Until finally finishing it off last night.
Result: Worth the frustration, 2 passes and it shaved beautifully. BBS. Very satisfying to give this thing its first shave for probably decades and get such a good result.
Excellent Grant. Congrats on showing the blade who's boss.

It´s hard to describe, but sometimes I get these fantastic shaves, the whole face is like a soft mirror finish and with the post Wool Fat skin it´s a very, very nice feeling
    Mikael,
Beautiful...simply beautiful. I enjoy these "out of nowhere" shaves too. I can't put my finger on it either, but seems like when all the planets are aligned properly, some sort of energy pushes things in the right direction.

Am I correct in assuming/remembering that your allergy to MWF is now a thing of the past? If so, that is great.

Nice and smooth shave, but not BBS. Missed small spot at back of jaw. Lol.

Fantastic Lu...I think that small spot is OK...enjoy the rest of the BBS shave, all day "LOL"

It's OK José. It's more about the shave than the shot. I did enjoy today's shot...You don't give yourself enough credit. You inspire a lot of us here with your outstanding shots. So, I salute you. Great shave maestro.

Welcome to SOTD ARNOLXX. Great to have you here. Don't worry about your English. Shaving is a universal/international language...we all understand it. besides, your English is probably 1000% better than my Spanish.

Great hardware/software maestro. Looking forward to more of your posts.

...and another one bites the dust. Way to go with the Cade Matt. Gotta mix it with the matching creme. While you're at it, get some of their ASB to finish the shave. You won't regret it. ANother scent of L'Occitane which is really great is L'Occitan, but they don't have the shave soap or creme...just the ASB and Cologne.

Ohhh, I almost forgot...nice blade and shave.

That is an awesome combination...I have tried the Shavemac, 2-band with MWF and it's amazing how much soap this thing picks up

    Well done Teiste.

Post Week of January 2 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 5/8" Thiers-Issard "Silverwing" Ltd. Ed. #165 in Ram's Horn, 1/2 Hollow, French Point
Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby #2", 3-band, Super Badger
    Soap/Überlather: Trumper's "Violet" Shave Creme + Trumper's "Rose" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue
Results: A late, but astonishingly fabulous shave...I had been eying this TI for quite awhile now and finally decided to pull the trigger and get it. I received it a few days ago in factory ready edge...so, took her to the hones (with 2 layers of tape). The steel is pretty darn hard (Rockwell Hardness of ~65 as per TI) and I can vouch for this...It took a little over 1/2 hr to set a proper bevel on this. But once it was set, this blade was popping hairs. She was next introduced to my "La Grosse Blanche" followed with a nagura progression on the Kiita/Asagi hybrid JNat. By the time I got done with her, she had an impressive edge. The true test was in the shave, and this regard, the TI passed with flying colors ...amazingly smooth and BBS skin with absolutely 0% irritation or discomfort. The Trumper's Rose/Violet combo überlather was super rich and thick and extremely moisturizing. Working it with the Simpson was an absolute delight . English triple milled shaving soaps do deliver the goods and I have come to really enjoy using them. I feel like this was a great acquisition to start 2011. I am still on the lookout for a couple of more razors I have my eyes on for at least for the next couple of months .
