Thanked: 30Friday, February 25th
Razor: Apollo Mikron
Blade: Schick Plus Platinum
Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Trumper Violet (Tallow Version)
A/S: Three Crowns Violet aftershave Milk
A less than stellar shave today. The Apollo is a bit different from my other razors and this unfamiliarity led to a bit of razor burn. The Three Crowns ASM calmed things down nicely.

Thanked: 33Str8: W&B, 2 stone honed by me after watching Glen's Video on You-tube (she's sharp and smooth),
Strop: 100 Laps on starshaving's Big daddy (My practice strop for 6 months), then finished with 40 laps on SRD 3inch, Long ENGLISH BRIDLE STROP (gift to myself for learning how to strop)
Brush: Vulfix 404 (a good Brush at a wonderful price)
Cream: Everest Russian SC, (All the Russian creams I've used so far have been excellent)
AS: Vintage English Leather AS Lotion, (very soothing and leaves your skin soft)
A while ago I read that it's too much to learn to hone, strop, and shave all at one time with a str8. So for over 6 months I've practiced stropping and honing, all while acquiring a number of str8's to play with. Todays shave was an accomplishment of over 6 months of practice and obsession. Today I had the best str8 shave (head and face) I've ever had, BBS almost. (other than 2 small areas on my jaw line). I would not have been able to get to here if it wasn't for all the great information, videos and tips that are shared by my shave brothers on the forums. (TSD and SRP)
Thank you, Gentlemen; and have a great shave.

Ha Ha...You're too funny Tom, LOL
Great shot and blade Chris. Hope you had a good snow day. A day off does wonders to the state of one's mind.
Thanks Fonti. She's a keeper alright
Bruce,
This is one classy EJ razor. Very classy
Gorgeous Kama Glen and a silky smooth shave
Teiste,
Nice vintage shot with some wonderful hardware
Thank you maestro. How's the badger behaving with the lather and the new Crown TI?
Thanks Grant
Sorry about the burn Phil...Could it have been the blades? I bet she'll be tamed in no time
David,
A BIG Kudos to you. Well done. Congratulations on several fronts:
- Honing (BIG accomplishment...it gets better and addictive)
- Your new strop (The Bridle is a fabulous one)
- Participating in SRP and more specifically SOTD. We love having you here.
- That's a fine str8 you've got there. Looking forward to seeing others.
Excellent SOTD Frank. Are the flowers from the wedding centerpiece or corsage?
