We lost internet on Saturday and we finally got it back today. I didn't shave on Sunday.
Monday's Shave
Prep:Hot Shower
Scuttle: Dirty Bird Custom Double
Brush:TGN 24mm Premium Silvertip in custom cherry
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Cream:Calypso bomb
Razor: Torrey “Damascus”
After shave: Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood
EDT: L'Occitane Vetyver
Result: I didn't shave on Sunday and the Torrey wiped away the 2 day growth with no problems. A very enjoyable shave.
Tuesday's Shave
Prep:Hot Shower
Scuttle: Dirty Bird Custom Double
Brush:TGN 22mm Super Premium in custom E. Indian Rosewood
Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Cream:J.M. Fraser Mosswood
Razor: DD Wonderedge
After shave: Alt-Innsbrook
EDT: Polo Blue
Result: Today's shave was very early (3:40 A.M. To be exact). It's been an interesting weather day with baseball sized hail, tornados, and everything in between going through the area. No real damage at our house, just a tense evening of dealing with it. I've got some catching up to do, looks like an amazing week already gentlemen!
Thanks
Glenn

Treasures from my spring break in France
Martin de Candre|Joris European White Badger
Theirs Issard 6/8 Black Horn scales|Guerlain Homme
On the advice of LegalBeagle I was in search of some Martin de Candre when I was in France on spring break. I discovered it at Planete Rasoir on Rue de Clinchy in Paris. It is an incredibly nice shop, and is a definite "must visit" if you're ever in Paris. I literally jogged the last 3-4 blocks through the rain and managed to arrive about 15 minutes before closing time on a Friday evening. The clerk was incredibly helpful and despite the language barrier answered my endless questions. I hope he's on commission as I kept him about 45 minutes past closing time.
As you can see from the picture, I came out of the store with a little more than some shaving soap and a few less euros in my pocket. Hmmm, next time Bill gives me some advice, I'd better leave the credit cards at home BTW, the Martin de Candre is AWESOME! I'm a uberlater fan, but gentlemen, you don't need to "uber" Martin de Candre. It's hard to believe the luxurious lather you can get from this soap all by itself!
Over the next few weeks I'll try to post some the pictures I took in Normandy - Omaha, Utah, and Sword beaches and Point du Hoc. And on that note, to all of you gentlemen who have served or are serving our country, a warm heart-felt thank you for your service!!!

Well Dom..Kids will do that to you, LOL...They suck the time out of your life...In a very good way. Razors or kids? Kids win hands down.
I do shave everyday though (mostly)...if not, I start looking like Grizzly Adams. Shave breaks come in weekends (mostly)
Otto,
I am going to start calling you Speedy Gonzales, LOL...10 minutes? Are you going for the Guinness Book of World Records? I am actually interested in ways to extend my shaving time. Currently 25 minutes and not interested in quickening the pace. Most of that time, I enjoy making and applying lather.
Wowww Teiste...What a nice close up shot. That DE is quite the looker. Very nice
Monroe,
How do you like the Portman Notting Hill?
Sell the kids. Use the proceeds to get Maxterpieces and customs, LOL, LOL...You can have all the time in the world
Yeap...those were the good old days.
Drinking and shaving don't mix, LOL. Don't worry. You'll get the groove back soon.
Beautiful Torrey Jeff and congrats on the honing. It feels great, eh?
A beautiful shave with a beautiful Engels Frank. Nicely done
Glenn,
It's unreal how attached we have become to these everyday standards that didn't even exist 15 years ago. Hmmmmm...How would we have done this SOTD thing back then, I wonder?
Great Damascus buddy
Beautiful DD, but we've been glued to the news wondering what the heck is up with the weather. I am very glad you guys are OK. Some people were not so lucky.
Excellent acquisitions Greg. MdC is truly a great soap and if you look at the ingredients list, there all of ~4 or 5 things in it. Pure and simple. No junk. Great uber indeed. The TI looks fabulous too. Paris is my wife's favorite city to vacation in...I better not show her this post, otherwise I am not going to hear the end of it, LOL
Niiiiiiiiiice going Matt

Wednesday!
What a glorious day! The sun is shining, spring has definitely arrived.
I used my very first straight today. It doesn't see much use these days, but every once in a while I feel like giving it a spin, for sentimental reasons. Besides, it is a great shaver
