I don´t think you´re wrong, you should know better than me (I´ve got only two scales by Max). Maybe it´s more of a good grade from me, to compare them to Maxs work

Post Week of April 17 SOTD - Wednesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 23mm Simpson "Chubby 2", 2-band Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 7/8" J.A. Henckels #19, 1/2 Hollow (lose grind), Spike Point - in G10 Lime Green scales
Strop: 5/5 laps (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: La Toja Manatiales Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
After Shave Creme: Sabon Sfter Shave Balm
Results: I was really starting to get tired of my experiments (10 days is enough with one soap, brush and 3 blades). *** I NEED VARIETY ***. Not to mention almost all the way through the experiments, I had two Maxterpieces sitting around, tempting me, testing my will power every morning. This Hanckels is one of those Maxterpieces. She is dressed in beautiful Green Lime G10 scales. I only gave her 5 laps on the linen/leather and she was ready to go. Last week, I received a new soap from Spain from a good friend (you know who you are. Thank you ). The soap not only is seated in this wonderful bowl, but she is also a very top performer...An amazing lather came out of this unassuming Spanish soap. The shave was simply TERRIFIC . BBS and smooth. In hindsight, Max' edge makes my experiments look like a stupid exercise. If his edges are 10, my best ones would be 8.5...OMG!!! Do I have a long way to go .

Have an AWESOME Wednesday gentlemen . We're half way there.

It is a nice feeling to shave with one's first razor. Well done. Nice job on the honing too. How do you like the Chosera? I am contemplating getting myself a 1k for bevel setting (complementing the Shapton)
    Thanks!
Yes , you are right, the very first razor will always be a very special shave!
The Chosera stones are without question my favorite tools right now. They are fast, provide great feedback, and are very durable with little lapping after the initial one. The edges off the 10K is grat. A little finishing at the end and that's it.

The kids loved their day at the Tivoli When they got their very first cotton candy was a priceless moment! The little one went in to a frenzy of screaming, spinning and eating all at the same time.

I fully understand about you getting tired of the same 3 razors!
For people like us, that will not cut it
It was a great experiment though, I enjoyed following it
Looks like I need to jump on the Max-bandwagon as well, he sure does beautiful work.
By the way, I stole the code for the tables you use, hope that was ok

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Not mine. There are a few pointers that show it's not my work :-)

What are you trying to say, Max-tro????
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

    Oscar,
These are the kinds of treats we all long for. Well done. Delayed gratification. One day of sacrifice = ultimate rewards (like today). Well done

You enabler you...I will wait awhile until I master (or close to) the Shaptons and some of my naturals before getting on the Chosera bandwagon, but should be on the list.

That is just too funny, but those are the moments that last forever. I love the look on my niece's face when she sees chocolate. She will sell her soul to get it. It is a hilarious sight to behold.

Thank you Birnando. It was a fun experiment to do. I will hone them up and send them back to their rightful owner for a more un-biased assessment.

You won't regret it. His eye for design and detail is unmatched. Whatever he charges is not enough (Max: you didn't hear it from me, LOL)

No prob about the code. In fact, I stole it from Max, LOL.

Thanks Rene...I am. I currently am the proud owner of 16 Maxterpieces. It must be a record somewhere. Even Max was shocked. Hell, I was shocked!!! He promised a Gold medal when I reach 20, LOL.

I think we should start a sticky thread with all the Max "derivatives" (Maxoholix, Max-tro, Maxterpiece, Maxtercard, etc...) that we have all come up with. We can have fun with this, LOL
