MOTD - Maxterpiece of the Day!
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: Semogue 2010 LE Razor: 8/8 Maxtom, Spike point in Mokume Gane Strop: Kanayama Soap/Cream: Martin de Cadre After shave: Habit Rouge (Vintage) EdP: Guerlain Habit Rouge Results: Maxnificent! This Max Sprecher custom arrived yesterday and she was well worth the wait. Max's execution with his own razors is as flawless as his restorations. Everything is done to absolute perfection. The blade is a beast with a mirror polish to the extended tang and monkey tail and a satin finish on the spike point blade; my humble pictures can do it absolutely no justice. What a way to start the day!

Robert,
I usually travel on the Turnpike at 430AM. There is no traffic at that time and on my way home I am traveling in the opposite direction. I will agree NJ roads are very congested these days but they move along pretty well unless a serious mishap. Funny/sad part of yesterday was the crash was in the southbound truck lanes. The traffic was caused by "rubber necking" in the northbound lanes and the south bound car lanes. I was traveling north so we drove to exit 8, instead of 7A and proceeded north from there.
As far as the elder daughter is concerned. We are traveling to Florida in the near future to participate in her graduation ceremonies. A bitter sweet trip since she will not be returning home, rather she will become a permanent Florida resident. I keep trying to bribe her to come home, but she has hated the cold (just like my Mom) since she was 2 yoa. She loves the weather so........I knew this day would come. Besides, she starts grad school in September.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

I honed this one up last week, and before tonights shave gave it 12 laps on the Chrome Oxide Balsa paddle. It performed beautifully. 3 passes for a great BBS.
I haven't been making a lot of Ubers lately, but I really have to do it more often. Its really so much fun, all that thick and creamy goodness.
Bill, I love you're stunning new Maxterpiece

This is one of the 3 razors i had Max hone. Bill and myself tried our hand at it. Both had it Popping hairs but was not dialed in. Max had told Bill they can be finiky to dial in, So the question is. Did max dial her in? You bet your A** he did. HA HA!! 2 passes is my test. BBS Could have done a 3rd to be picky. Really not needed and also would have made me wait longer for my next shave. Thank you Max
Bill Awesome Maxterpiece!!!!!!
Have a great day guys.

Nice going Lars
Great looking Pearson Tom. Love that Pine Cone too.
Beautiful shot Birnando. Love the view. Great AJ too with a first class honing regimen .I bet that edge was super dialed in by the time you got through with it. How is honing a Damascus compared to a regular carbon or ss razor?
Regarding the MdC: Great product indeed...I just wished the company was better run with better management team.
Otto,
I was starting to miss this TI. She's a real gem. Very nice
Mikael,
Fantastic razor/brush/creme combo. I never though of Vulfix as a creme company!!
Béla,
That is one fantastic razor. Gotta love the Swedish edges. Good choice buddy
Nice shave GI. I have never tried Williams but from what I hear, your assessment is in line with other userss' POV.
Oh Duuuuuuuuuuude. Wowwwww. I don't know what to say. Really!!! I am (literally) speechless. She's absolutely gorgeous. I don't know if I should be congratulating you (as the owner) or Max (as the creator), LOL. But, congrats to both.
I can also see you have reaaaaaally gone all out with this shave (all top notch products). Well done Bill. This Maxtom deserves to be used ONLY with the best of the best.
Let the MAD-ness begin, LOOOOOOOOOOL.
Wowwww Jeff,
They grow so quickly. Bribing never works, LOL. Maybe at some point, you guys may consider Florida (sure your wife will be happy...not sure about you though, LOL). Congratulations on her graduation. What will she study in Grad School?
Grant,
Awesome. Beautiful and simple.
PS: ubers are fun
Nice "Artist" Matt...Did you do the scales on this beauty? The peening looks like Max'.
...And that's what separates the men from the boys, LOOOOOOOOOL. Beautiful Coronet Rene
José,
Gorgeous Henckels you got there my friend. Nice close up shot too

Thanks mate.
The view is from my 1st. floor sun terrace at home. It's a place for enjoying many pleasures. Sunbathing, barbecue and beautiful sunsets
You know, honing the Damascus razors I have is exactly the same as honing carbon razors.
Some are Sheffield-like with a rather soft steel, others are more like an average Solingen or Eskistuna razor.
The difference would be that the Damascus blades are quite often of a stiffer grind. Like quarter hollows or thereabouts.
Three different Custom builders have told me that that is the ideal grind for that kind of steel.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

He certainly gets the Maximum out of everything he does! She's beautiful, and she handles like a sportscar! What a dream, I know you'll love yours when he finishes it!
Thanks, Grant. I'm very proud of her, but Max truly deserves the credit. He's the man behind the incredible craftsMaxship on display! He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
