Post Week of May 22 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 22mm New Forest 2211 Silvertip Badger
Razor: 11/16" J.A. Henckels #50, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 45/55 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: La Toja "Manatiales" Shave Soap
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
After Shave Creme: Sabon AS Creme
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "Cedro" EdC
Results: What a nice way to start this Saturday. Did a 6 mile hike/run, followed by 1.5 hrs of YogaX. Talk about really opening the skin pores. I relaxed by taking a nice, long hot shower. Super saturated the skin and face. Then came the Pièce de résistance; The shave of today. The lather off the La Toja was effortless (easily in my top 5). She provided a fantastic cushion and lather for the Henckels to do her job. It was absolutely fabulous. Super BBS, super smooth and irritation free. What a way to start the day, which is going to end on the busy side for sure.

    Have a great one guys.

    Hey Mikael,
You are a gentleman my friend. Thank you for the kind words. But as much as I would love for that to be true (hiding Max at home, I mean), alas it isn't...No one can hide Max for their exclusive use. He's a free spirited restorer/custom maker.

Oh yeah...you bagged a 7 day Helje set?!! Heck, forget Mark...I will hound you for them, HAHAHAHA

Sounds like you found your DE Konstantinos. You're a lucky man my friend.

No worries mate. Get a good night's sleep and you'll be up to snuff before you know it...and ready for a great shave.

    Default Sunday

    My set-up for tomorrow, Sunday:

    GB Kent T4
    Creed Original Vetiver SS
    Filarmonica 13, black scales
    Roger et Gallet L'Homme ASB
    Terre d' Hermes Parfum

A benchmark shave... tonight I'll be using L'Occitane's Cade bark scrub to help exfoliate all my trapped hairs. This stuff is like an antibiotic for me.

    Prep: Shave Secret shave oil
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat (first time used!)
    Brush: AoS pure badger
    Razor: Dovo 5/8" Special
    Strop: Dovo - Russian Leather / Linen - 30 / 30
    A/S: Aqua Velva musk

Result: my third shave with a real straight. i had been using a shavette since then. only one nick on my neck. other then that very smooth for my experience!
i used MWF for the first time and i used my AoS pure brush brush. i don't think it was quite stiff enough. i ordered a new Omega pro 48 that i planned on using with my new brush. i thought of grinding my new puck down to make for better lather but i'm not sure how much better results people get. if anyone can post a video of grinding down a puck of MWF, that would be great. i'm not to sure how to do it!
