Thanks for sharing all the live pics from your trip. I've enjoyed all of them. Are you going to visit the dead sea?

I still like to post daily, but now I just can't sit around the puter and chat at will like before. These two razors are runnin pretty much on even keel, but I might give a slight edge to the Wester, but then I've used it a bit more too. Thanks buddy and have a good eve/night
That is great new Mark. Glad to hear it. It is hard work and you don't see the rewards immediately, but that's what delayed gratification and the pursuit of your dreams is all about. I completely understand about the chat though. We'll cherish every moment you can spare buddy. Go knock them dead

You can tell from the choice of razor this morning that we were inevitably going to have a visit by 'Mr. Nick'. Common sense and advice from experienced shavers dictate that this type is "...not recommended for beginners..."
    Konstantinos,
Beautiful shave and kudos on sticking with it buddy. The Filarmonica is among one of the best shavers out there, (almost) bar none. Sorry to hear about the nicks though. That could be due to one of two things: (1) technique (which will come in time) or, (2) edge not being quite there yet. In terms of whether it's a beginner's razor or not, I say why not? I used a Filarmonica after ~2 weeks into straight shaving (I think) and it was fine. Technique will come my friend, edge you have to be sure about. No guess work there...Did she come shave ready by a honemeister

Dear custom-meister (your new nickname, LOL)
That is a beautiful CL...Love the tang work. I completely agree about your Shavemac assessment. As far a density, nothing beats it

Congrats Bill. She is a beauty. However, I think Birnando (sorry, the custom-meister) is becoming a bad influence in your life, LOOOOL. Seems like you're trying to beat his customs collection. We have to save you from yourself, LOOOOL.

Wait a second Grant. Did you change the scales on that Bengall? Nice burl scales. And sounds like a great organization. I wish we had things like that here. Maybe we do and I don't know it. Well done.

Post Week of May 22 SOTD - Friday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Razor: 11/16" F.W. Engels "Perfect Temper", Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 35/45 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: L'Occitane "Cade" Shave Creme + L'Occitane "Cade" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
After Shave Balm: L'Occitane "Cade" ASB
Cologne: L'Occitane "Eau Des 4 Voleurs" EdC
Results: A beautiful, yet simple shave for this TGIF. The Engels hadn't seen much action lately, especially since I lost the bid on a gorgeous 8/8" one recently ...So, I figured it's time to give mine a moment in the spotlight. She did not disappoint. It's going to be a short day and a long weekend.

    Razor: Platipus
    Pre-shave: Noxzema
    Brush: Rooney pure badger
    Soap: Omega
Coagulant: Styptic....lots and lots on styptic.

Not a good shave today. First pass went great. On the second pass, I had one of those sneezes that just sort of sneaks up on you. Ended up with a 3 1/2" slice on my left cheek. Needless to say I won't be shaving for a few days while it heals up. I'll just have to get my fix by continuing to look at all of these wonderful SOTD's.

I am no longer a cop rather a retired cop. Some say "once a cop always a cop". Anyway, I am now a Fed, not the same as a cop.
I finally understand how drug addicts feel. I cannot stop myself either. Least I am having fun!!!

    Enjoy the weekend!!

Wow, that sounds real bad, Sorry to hear that.
I hope it heals up quickly
Styptic is indeed a necessity in the shave den!

Hope your ok. When I get a nasty one, I use a good antibiotic cream and cover it. Seems to make things heal faster.

Thanks for the kind words Robert. Yes, the Shavemac is ridiculously dense.

I'm gonna have to stay on my toes here, In fact, I guess a new Custom is in order for tomorrows SOTD.

Yeah, I put some neosporin on it once it stopped bleeding. Luckily it wasn't too deep. Shouldn't leave much of a scar, if any at all.
