Thanked: 1072Got a surprise package in the mail today
Strop: Illinois 835
Brush: 24mm Premium A Silvertip in Custom Cocobolo
Soap: MWF
Razor: Wade & Butcher For Barber's Only
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: Nivea Replenishing
A/S: David Craig Bay Rum
Result: The Wade & Butcher effortlessly wiped away the 2 day growth and left me with a fantastic BBS and Blah Blah Blah...The W&B is an awesome razor, it always gives me a great shave.
The real highlight of tonights shave was the brush. It arrived totally out of the blue today and was a gift from Glenn (aka Sharp). It was superb. Great backbone, and beautifully soft. The handle is about 10mm longer than my Frank's brush and is exactly the length I've been thinking about.
Glenn turned the handle himself and gave it a CA finish. Its beautiful.
He also sent some samples of other soaps, creams etc which I will be trying over coming days.
A great shave made possible by our very generous friend Glenn. Thank you.
To use Aussie slang: Glenn your a bloody champion mate.

Week of June 19 SOTD - Tuesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 22mm New Forest 2211 Silvertip Badger Razor: 6/8" Thiers-Issard Dos Festonné "Eagle", Full Hollow Ground, Spanish Point (w/ Red Stamina scales) Strop: 40/55 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather) Überlather: Pré de Provence Shave Creme + Pré de Provence Shave soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS After Shave Balm: Pré de Provence ASB Cologne: Creed "Original Vetiver" EdT Results: Today's shave was with this TI Eagle razor. This one is one of a few Spanish points that I own and I have definitely, fallen in love with this beauty queen. Her edge was taken to the Maruka Asagi (slight slurry - 20 laps w/ each dilution + water finish - 60 laps). She is as smooth as butter. The Pré de Provence uber delivered a marvelously rich and moist (not to mention fabulously scented) lather . The den smelled heavenly. So much so that my wife kept wondering in every few minutes, getting a nose full before strolling out . BBS and loving it. Finished things with the Pré de Provence AS balm.

Great photo and shave ED. Lovely Bismarck for sure and congrats on your new SRD scuttle
Good to hear Paul. You can probably shave around the area, but be mindful that the razor's heel/toe does tend to dig in such a "hole"
Dunc,
Looks like you already have the best C-Mon there is. Once these edges are dialed in, they are amongst the best for sure. So, hone her up my friend and you will not be disappointed. Just a word of caution/advice: If you are a beginner in honing (sounds like you are), I would not recommend learning the art on this nice razor. Get yourself a cheapie razor (maybe even 2) from eBay and use it to practice your honing skills. There's almost always a good chance that you can mess the razor up learning this art.
Absolutely FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC Béla. Awesome looking Buddel. How do you like the QED Fresh lime SS?
Jamie,
That Duru sounds amazingly intoxicating. I bet it's a great wake me upper in the AM too. Well done
Mikael,
That Nesbitt is pure "Perfection my brother. Beautiful. Great choice of software too
Rum,
Sorry to hear about the gas repair pains. We don't realize how much we take our hot waters for granted, until it's limited. Hang tough brother, you will enjoy that shave soon enough. And when you do, I bet it'll be an extra special one
Super stupendous
Nice shave today Birnando...I love it. Arlington + JC sounds about as heavenly as they come. Sounds like that cut of yours must have healed up pretty nice
Wowww Bill. She is a total babe man. Max did an amazing work on this one. I was wondering how that blade would clean up, but saving the etch was a good move
Awesome Torrey Glenn.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Beautifully said brother. Just fabulous. I love it. Great shave btw
Grant,
Another fine example of the quality of the people on this forum. Congrats on the new brush and nice gesture Glenn. Very nice shave too btw
Jamie,
Great to hear...when you take it all away, all we have left is family. Those are the true ties that bind. Yeahhh...I have a feeling that your Montague is going to gain notoriety (and sentimental value) amongst your expanding collection.
None needed. The wonderful setup with the "Diamond" as its centerpiece speaks for itself.
Excellent roundup of top players Julian

Robert was very kind enough to hone this for me. I bought this blade an eldery lady in Connecticut. She was in her 70's and she told me this was her fathers. I ubered up Eucris and TOBS St james. What an awesome scent and lather.
Beautiful Post guys!
