From the sounds of it, if stropping (50-60 laps) didn't fix the problem, then your edge needs a refresher at the very least (just my 2 cents). Overcompensation by angle or pressure (they go hand in hand) is a dangerous game, imo. Send her out to be refreshed or rehoned or do it yourself if you're comfortable.

I have indeed and I fully concur with your assessment. It is a wonderful creme. I don't use her often because it has a lot of unneeded ingredients that I don't like (SLS, etc...). Performance wise though, she is up there.

RESULT: Today I tested the third of Rene's razors honed on my new Choseras. I think I managed to go 3/3 on them. They will be headed home!

The real story today, though, was lavender! I started with a little heaven from Provence, with the Martin de Candre. This stuff has a scent that is absolutely intoxicating to me, and whips up some of the most luxurious and efficacious lather I've ever dreamed of. Today was no exception as the Chubby 2 worked its magic. The Buddel then went to work, which is to say it glided effortlessly across my face leaving me weak kneed with how efficiently the stubble disappeared. I continued the lavender assault with some Ach. Britt Lavanda After Shave Splash and then topped it all off with the Villoresi Wild Lavender. This last step brought in some elements of lemon, geranium and spices to play off the wonderful floral lavender base.

Now if only I had a fresh baked almond croissant, I might forget I'm in D.C. and truly think I was back in the south of France!

I´ve been using to many hollow grinds lately and lost touch of how light handed you need to be with a wedgy Sheffield blade, like this. Not cuts or reall nicks, but a couple och mini nicks where the blade simply came to close. Uberclean face and shave though

Talked with my Doctor yesterday, and it appears that that my foot injury will take a fair bit longer to heal.And after another call this AM, it seems I need another operation on my foot. Skateboarding really isn't for middle aged men... A bit bummed out about that right now, but a stellar shave helped
