Thanks Robert, the rolls appeals to me as its a great piece of engineering and its basically a straight on a stick!
The leather I will be using is err.... cheap I've ordered 63" X 2.5" of tanned cow hide to have a play about with strop making and I envisage there will be enough left over to make a new strop for the rolls.Regards

I have been using the Naniwas for years; it is a synthetic stone, soft and loads up easily which means that you need to lap it often...sooo you need a lapping stone or just buy a DMT diamond hone for the job, I believe a 600 grit will do. Also, if you are going to invest in the Nanis get a 1000 grit to set the bevel in addition also buy a Norton prep stone to raise slurry. I have the following 1K,3K,5K,8K and 10K for polishing the bevel...and yes IMHO, they are a good investment. HOG

I really didn't feel like doing a SODT today , after the terrible terrorist attack here in Norway today, but I figured the best thing to stand up against this, is to don't let it bring us down, and don't let it change anything. The implications of this is slowly sinking in , it's truly horrible.
7 people killed in the bombing, and 10+ young people killed in the youth camp shooting. RIP
So here's this simple photo from todays have.
Imperial 6/8 razor, Cella soap and Semogue brush.

Bokers Red Injun 101 5/8
Palmolive Mentholated SC
Chubby 2
DR Harris Arlington Splash
-I know the Chubby is very much a soap brush but I just felt like using it and I really felt like the Palmolive menthol. As a friend from a different board says, "It's your shave, have it your way." No regrets and despite wasting quite a bit of cream from this lather hog of a brush I'd do it again.

Friday Evening
Another busy day painting the walls of my castle's stairway, landing and second floor hallway. BTW... My auto's thermometer read 101 deg. Farenheit when I returned from the hardware store at 6:00 P.M. today.
Prep: Hot shower -- followed by Prep pre-post-shave cream
SS/SC: Mama Bear’s “Lime Ice “ + Gillette “Menthol” = Superlather
Brush: Vulfix “The Grosnevor” Boar/Badger
Strop: VB Red Latigo 50 fabric; 60 leather
Razor: 6/8” J. A. Henckels
Astringent: Thayers “Lemon” Witch Hazel
ASB: Anherb Natural Aftershave Conditioner
AS: Aqua Velva Classic “Ice Blue”
Result: A wonderful way to beat the heat.
If there are any SRP members located in a cooler climate, please send me the following, with my everlasting gratitude:
