    Thursday 11th:

    Henckel's
Neil Miller genuine linen/English bridle strops (35/55)
    Omega #98
    SWK XL
    Nanny's Sandalwood
    Thann Shiso after shave
    La Toja balsamo
    Guerlain L'Instant Eau de Toilette

A few newcomers in the rotation today, starting from the razor. I like the shape of blade and scales but shortly after the first pass I already started to miss Swedish steel (so you get the point and I can move on commenting on the after shaves and balms, etc.)

Nanny's Sandalwood gave plenty of lather, quite a bit of agitation in the scuttle from my end prior to that, though. When finally took the Omega for painting the lather on my face I noticed its bristles were not as 'wide open' as other times. Not enough water, perhaps? I don't know. The lather was slick but first pass felt as if my stubble was not soft enough, razor was kind of skipping, an issue that always comes up when I fail to get the soap/water ratio right.

The Thann after shave lotion has Shiso plant extract, chamomile and witch hazel. It is made in Thai. Quite expensive, but a nice and with good cleansing and moisturizing properties product.

    Maxterpiece: Le Grelot in Ebony
    Soap: QCS Celestial Woods
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
    Toner: Alum
    ASB: Sabon
    EdT: Roma
Result: Another wonderful way to start the day. I hadn't used the QCS in quite some time; I'd almost forgotten the great scent this one has. I'd also been neglecting this blade for several weeks and it was more than happy to provide a reminder why I shouldn't go so long between uses. It's a very nimble shaver and bears one of Max's wicked smooth sharp edges. His scales are typical of Max's work - clean lines with no imperfections anywhere to be found. I emerged from the shave den clean and smooth as a whistle!

    Gugi,
That is one of the most beautiful blades I have ever seen! The reflection on the blade is wonderful and the colors of the accessories/products compliment it well. Great blade great pic

Prep: Hot Water Wash, Baby Oil Gel
    Razor: Boker Barber Tip
    Brush: VDH Deluxe
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Clubman Bay Rum
    Finish: Pinaud Lime Sec EdC

No shave yesterday as I was far too sick. My son only recently recovered from the creeping crud so it made sense that it was my turn and man, it hit me HARD. Tuesday afternoon I left work early because I felt like dookey and just could not keep warm, I was literally freezing in an 80 degree room. Yesterday, I spent most of the day in bed either freezing or sweating, by the time I realized that I hadn't shaved it was just too late to bother, or I was just too sick. Last night I attempted PT (thinking that sweating it out was the way to go) but I had to pull the plug. Every joint in my body ached, I couldn't breathe and I was getting light headed. Feeling a bit better today, the fever seems to have gone now and I'm just kinda tired and sore.

Great shave this morning. This hefty Boker quickly dispatched the Bobo the homeless man look with a 3 pass Hollywood shave (very rare indeed for a weekday). Anyway, I'll try to rest up so I can get back in the ballgame tomorrow (or perhaps better yet, Monday.)
The older I get, the better I was

PT is good for when it starts to rear it's ugly little head but kicks your butt when trying to sweat it out when at it's peak. That is my experience however. Feel better as a smooth face does help!
