Good morning Gents. A rainy sunday in Oslo today.

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Fonex boar brush
    Soap: Mitchells' Wool Fat
    Scuttle: Robert Becker large
Razor: 5/8 hollow ground, round point mystery razor. I can't make out the very faint stamps.
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
    After Shave Splash: Rhómme
Notes: Great shave today, this noname razor reminds me that razors of unknown origin can be brilliant shavers nonetheless. The large boar brush whips out loads of lather effortlessly, and the aftershave splash tops it all off nicely. Total BBS in 3 nice and slow passes.

    Razor - Le Jaguar
    Brush - Semouge Boar
    Soap - Valobra
    AST - ALUM
    AS - MyChelle SPLASH

    Good morning;

It's nice to shave with the Le Jaguar. I just had to give it a few laps on the Black Escher. Good to see the Filli and W&B (beauti scales) , Revisor and a Kamisori and all the rest. The MyChelle stuff is OK, kinda weak. It's more of a toner so it's a little sticky. Have a good week ahead.
    Mike

Bela, What a nice cast of international characters for today. Very well done. Love that shoulderless Revisor

Tom, Nice gear. Although I have to admit that the Buddel scales are atypical of Buddel PS: So, the AXE is to do what the commercial suggests? Get women running after you on a Harley, LOOOOOL?

Yorkie, How thin is that tang on this beauty? It sure sounds a little dangerous. One wrong move and violà...you end up in the ER, LOOL. I bet she took on a nice smooth edge with the Coti though

EA, Congratulations on taking the leap of faith with this beautiful Kamisori. It sure is a different kinda shave, but equally rewarding. I also love that Rosette. She's a real beauty

Pancakes, eggs and bacon with a bear-sized puddle of Canadian maple syrup on top.
Otto, I can see you are on cloud 9 (and rightfully deserved)...After all, life threw you a very beautiful surprise and made you a great uncle. Enjoy that breakfast (of the champions) buddy. PS: Of your collection, that Livi is one of my absolute favorites.

Grant, Fantastic razor indeed. What's there not to love? Sure, there probably are many razors out there that we each have (or rather want) to try, but hey, if you found that "One", then why bother...except maybe for comparative purposes? Well done PS: you changed your avatar. Is that the missus? You made her shave her head too (you evil, evil man, LOOOL)?

EA, Great shave and sounds like temps are still way high, but good trend. The picture of that brunch that Otto painted for us certainly has a lot of us drooling, LOL

The Floris is an easy soap, too easy to get lather, as other soaps the 1st lather is airy and it's needed a bit of work to obtain a creamy and thick lather....once I got the lather the shave is almost done.
That's awesome José...just awesome. Love that Veiga. I am humbled to have seen it first hand when it was ready. No worries, there will be more Maxterpieces in your future, I am sure. I am glad you like the Floris...that is an amazing soap indeed. Easy to lather and once you get the sweet spot (also easy), fabulously rich lather

Post Week of August 21 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Custom Shavemac D01, 2-band, Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 13/16" Geo. Wostenholm "Original Pipe" razor, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point (w/ Blue Paua scales)
Strop: 25/45/55 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: Trumper's "Sandalwood" Shave Creme + QED "Sandalwood" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: Trumper's "Sandalwood" Skin Food
    Cologne: Penhaligon "Quercus" EdT
Results: Swedish blades never fail to deliver. This rare size (I think) Wosty, redone by Max, is no exception. Took her edge for a quick laps around the Kiita JNat last night and she was just as smooth as the day I got her from Max. Trumper's Sandalwood creme hadn't seen much action for some time, so I rectified this oversight by coupling it with one of my favorite Sandalwood soaps and the result was über-spectacular. Yaba-daba-doo . Mow we're off to spend the day with my folks.

    Have a FABULOUS Sunday gentlemen.

    Razor:Jones Mfg Co. Chicago, Ill.
    Brush:Jade and brass handled boar
Soap:Williams Mug Soap ubered with Palmolive Lemon and glycerine
    AS:Thayers Lavender and Clubman Original
Result:I"ve had this razor for a while but it was scaled in some horrible bass wood scales that made the razor almost impossible to use. Finally got her rescaled in some cherry wood and got her honed up last night. This is officially my favorite American razor. The shave completely blew my Torreys and Genco away.Didn"t even feel it cut any hairs. Two pass smooth as silk BBS. Can't wait to use it again.
