Post Week of August 21 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 22mm New Forest Silvertip Badger
Razor: 13/16" DOVO #300 "Waffen Schmied", Full Hollow Ground, Round Point
Strop: 20/45/45 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: eShave "Almond" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's "Almond" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    After Shave Splash: Proraso AS
After Shave Balm: eShave "Almond" ASB
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "1869" EdT
Results: I think I am hopeless (and hate to admit it), but I have a distinct feeling that I am reaaaaaaaaly beginning to become an almond addict...The eShave/Mama Bear Almond scent, not to mention the lather produced by the combination, was so good that I spent literally 15 minutes playing and smelling the darn thing . It finally hit me: at some point, I will have to stop, pick up the blade and run it across my face. Then again, who said that shaving should be done within a specified period of time? After all, isn't this when time comes to a complete stand still for us to enjoy a solitary zen moment ? I am stopping to smell the Roses, or in this case, the almonds . Anyhoo...as soon as I held the DOVO in my hands, the entire shave scenario flashed before my eyes (kinda like Tom Cruise in the "Last Samurai")...I knew exactly how this was going to play out. It was going to be a phenomenal shave. And it was.

Have a SPECTACULAR Tuesday gentlemen .

For some Swedish steel ... I wanted to try some American blades and Robert wanted to try some Swedes, so now I've got two nice shavers (Genco Honor + this one).

Very nice SOTD Robert! Love almond too, have you tried the calssics (Cella and P160)? Not so refined almond but tons of it

I was also curious as to what you'd put on your plate to hone. Nice choice. You use hot water to hone? That's very interesting. What's the logic behind it?

I put the hot water on to shave lol, it's fed by a water heater into a water tank. For some reason I don't have a combi boiler where I am.

I'm sure someone will try hot water to hone now lol

Thanks for the avice Robert, I'm going to use it in superlather mode :

Great shave after PT. The blade seems so small after yesterday. Subtle Uber scent but great lather and glide. DFS. Have a great Tues everyone.
