    Good Morning Gentlemen
    Prep: Hot Water Wash
    Razor: Texas Shumate
    Brush: Semogue 1305
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Nivea ASB
Finish: English Leather Cologne, Firehouse Wacky Tacky
Result: 3 passes, great edge on this razor, CBS shave. Remember the old commercial where the uber hot chick in a cocktail dress says, "All my men wear English Leather, or they wear nothing at all."? Well, as nice as wearing nothing at all would have been, I think the dress code at work would take a pretty dim view of that so I decided to wear English Leather instead.

I've become very attached to this razor, mostly because it's the first one I've honed and am amazed that i didn't ruin it!
    EA,
She's a beauty...It's quite a feeling shaving with a razor that you honed yourself. Congrats

Now, that's a shave worthy of royalty. First class gear all the way

It had a bit of fear because it is my first 6/8, all the others are 5/8, but there has not been any problem.
    amb,
Congratulations on your first 6/8" shave with this beauty. Well done. Don't fear my friend...Once you know how to manipulate a 5/8, any other size should be a breeze. Next on your list should be a 7/8 and then an 8/8...They're not that different really, fun in their own way

    Bill,
Way to go on pushing the envelop with this Kamisori...yes, she may be a bit awkward at first, but stick with it. Once there, she does provide with a ultra smooth shave, rivaling some of the best straights, imo.

    Yorkie,
I was also curious as to what you'd put on your plate to hone. Nice choice. You use hot water to hone? That's very interesting. What's the logic behind it?

I wanted to try the new soap of the Comptoir des savonniers, a little soap store in Biarritz. A thick lather, but not the glide andd moisturizing features of some of the tops soaps (MdC, MWF,.,,) very simmilar to La Toja, the scent is very subtle, almost unscented.
    José,
I love that Taurino...at some point, I will want to collect all 6 Taurinos (not now though...as a reward to myself, after I have reached certain milestones in my goals). Sounds like you have found a great soap, but sorry to hear about her lack of glide...perhaps you can remedy that by adding a creme which has it?

    Grant,
That sounds really awesome...Those are the ties that bind and last. Worth trading with the best of shaves in the world, imo. My nephews are getting very intrigued with my collection as well and they love to see it every time they come visiting. Of course, they already are committed to going "straight" when it's time.
