Great shave Frank. Beautiful Engels. Gotta love this blade. How do you rate the TOBS Rose (I mean compared to other Roses)?
Thanks Robert! Little late in responding, but I just got online from last night!

I may not be the person to compare Roses. The only other rose scent I have used is Trumpers. I like the TOBS more, even though to me, it is a more synthetic fragrance. I still like it though as it is a real powerful Rose scent where the Trumpers was subtle. I would like to try Salters, but will stick with the TOBS for now.

Timing couldn't be worse...I feel for you Rene...I lost a very close friend to Leukemia (back in Grad School...I still remember getting the call) and I dreaded every minute of it. I went through hell for a few months. Hers was rather quick (1.5 months and she was gone). Hang tough brother. I know what you are going through.

This was my 2nd shave with one of my newly rescaled Bengall blades. Its a near wedge and I am still in need of honing practice with those. I'll give her a few more passes on the coticule before the next shave.
    Hey Tim,
What a nice gesture by Jeff. Cade is a great creme. What a nice brush too (congrats Jeff). now, this is what I call the Midas touch

Bengall's are definitely top shavers. be patient with her buddy. Once they take on an edge, you will be sold and hooked

I am going to start calling you the "Splash Guy". That Sherwood sure sounds fabulously delicious smelling. Great shave with the DI for sure Sten.

Thank you Jamie. The thought is very much appreciated. As for being the enabler: Just doing my part in this fun hobby of ours. The way I see it is that I would rather see these great blades in the hands of my brothers (eventually being passed on to their heirs) than to see them wither away on eBay or rusting away in some antique shop in the future.

    Nathan,
Godrej is really an amazing creme...I am afraid that my wife has claimed that one from my drawer, LOL

Amazing razor, though a bit hard to hone.
    Amund,
CONGRATULATIONS buddy. That is a great acquisition indeed. That must be the 665 version (tang not blackened and scales are black). Nonetheless, she is exactly the same as her 666 cousin. I thought that the 666 took on an amazingly keen edge in no time at all. Your regimen sounds perfectly fine. Remember, she doesn't need any pressure to get going (despite the hard steel).

Sounds like fun Rune...Sorry to hear your dad was MIA though. No wine for kids? What a bummer, LOOOOOL. My nephews really enjoy a sip of wine/beer once in awhile (under controlled setting, of course)

So about the shave. After a 40 pound pack two mile run today I took a nice long shower and followed it up with a great Uberlather. BBS 3 pass shave and happy as can be!
HOLY MOLY Paul...Do you have a license for that, LOOOL? That is the BIGGEST razor I ever laid eyes one. She must weigh a ton. Did your wife help in holding one end during the shave? She's gorgeous buddy. Use her in good health and congrats.

I think I'll give it a run over the coticule before the next shave, to bring back the keen but mellow edge I like.
    Nic,
Sorry to hear that the hone didn't quite stack up to your expectations. I have never used one myself, but I hear that they're marvelous stones (I guess it depends on luck partly?). But the Kropp is a beauty.

No sweat Frank. better late than never. I am surprised you think Trumper's Rose is subtle. I find it very strong and very very good. As for Salter, it is one of the best smelling Roses I know. The other is SRD's Bulgarian Rose.

LMAO She is scared of it also!!!! I haven't weighed it but it's not that bad compared to a big wedge. The hardest thing is just to strop it. and it still doesn't make up for you hoarding the Maxterpiece's!! Tell you what though after I get some time with it I wouldn't be opposed to sending it to ya for a bit to try her out!!

Very fragrant refreshing and smooth shave, i'm off to Abergaveeny market this morning with the Wife, a little town situated near the black mountains in South Wales. PS maybe with a little luck I could be able tp pick up some vintage shaving gear.
