    Michael,
Sorry to hear the shave wasn't quite AAA rated...Sounds like the blade needs to revisit the stones. The IK soap was a nice tough...Great soap indeed. Nicely moisturizing and good glide

    Otto,
Sometimes, it pays to go with a simple and basic shave. I like it. Well done bro

Nice going GI...now, the face and dome (almost) match.

This blade is amazing, looks rather plain (but stylish ) even though an awesome shaver! Tabac's greaty stuff too, if you only could afford one regular supermarket soap, this could easy be one of those (ARKO or Cella being two other).
Great combo Mikael...That Helje is indeed very stylish. Big +1 on the Tabac

Started off with the Falkenber, razor had been here ever since my sister brought it from Chicago. Turns out the razor is not shave ready from mid-way along the edge's length till the heel. Never mind, I take out the Filarmonica and continue, finishing off nicely with the Chanel after shave prep.
    Konstantinos,
That Falkenberg is a beauty. Too bad her edge wasn't quite there yet. A few laps on the hones will take care of that and turn her into a first class shaver. Good finish with the Fili

Waiting can be a gut wrenching exercise for sure...Those holiday plans sound wonderful though. The Aegean Sea islands are one of the most beautiful. Have you decided which islands yet?

Sadly, it had lost its keenness over time and he was unable to bring it back. So I took it to the hones. I started on my 5k Chosera, but it wasn't getting sharp enough, so I went back to bevel set with the 1k Chosera. Once it was smoothly shaving arm hair, I proceeded through my 5k and 10k stones and then finished it with a light nagura progression on the Oozuku Suita. The result this morning was one fit for a king! The edge was smooth and it simply wiped away several days growth. I was left with a sticky smooth BBS leaving me ready to apply the Sartorial. This is a scent that has grown on me significantly. It is pure class but in a modern refined way. It's an excellent choice for a Monday!
Very nice going Bill. This blade deserves nothing than the best edge and you seem to have achieved just that. Your friend will sure appreciate that. Well done

CONGRATULATIONS Adept on achieving the first milestone (but one of the most satisfying) on the road to straight shaving. And what a fabulous razor to make this happen. Woohooo!!!! it only gets better from here on out.

Not BBS But near. The Uber was amazing today. Mix a brush full of water in the mug with an inch of Godrej, load the brush with RazoRock, throw in 5 drops of Glycerine and it made such a wonderful lather, thick, creamy and so smooth and slick. It was one of the best I have ever made. Talk about the poor man's uber. Wonderful. Finish it with my new edition EDT Blue Deep. The wife loves it, so I do too!! (She bought it for me!)
Wowww...what a nice uber Mike. I would have never thought to mix Godrej with RR. Sorry about the re-opening that old cut though. Heal fast (again) my friend

    Tim,
That is a $1M shave indeed. Love the way those scales match the mug perfectly. Very nicely done

Post Week of August 28 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 7/8" Friodur INOX ss #17, 1/2 Hollow Ground (Loose grind), Spike Point (w/ Hunter Orange scales)
Strop: 30/50/50 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: Trumper's "Sandalwood" Shave Creme + QED "218 Special" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
    After Shave: Trumper's "Sandalwood" Skinfood
Results: Sandalwood (and spruce) day today. The special 218 is an amazing soap. With its intoxicating spruce scent, it produces one thick and slick lather. Throw in a little dash of Sandalwood and voilà, you have the "perfect" lather, which deserves nothing less than an equally matched razor. The Friodur wiped the lather right off...Clean, BBS and ready for what Monday has in store.

Have a TERRIFIC Monday gentlemen .

I can smell the spruce all the way from CA to NV. Those QED soaps have some of the best intense smelling scents. Vivi approved.

I had originally put this blade in my EJ barley but it apparently does not like these blades. After the first pass I perfectly groomed 5 o'clock shadow!!!That was mildly frustrating so I put the same blade into me Gillette slim, dialed it up to 7 and Pow! 2 pass BBS! Guess I will not be using my Feather blades in my EJ!! Have a great Monday all and love the Show today!
