DE day today. Got this new R41 a while ago. It might be the most aggressive DE ever made, and should be used as a straight, slowly and carefully. Done right it delivers an awesome super close shave.

You are absolutely right, Blix. Also the feeling after a shave with the Muehle R41 is like a straightrazor-shave

I saw that razor on Neil's site its a beauty! I also have a Seehund but mine has the original scales, its a lovely shaver (must dig it out for tonight) Neil will have put a fantastic edge on yours, I wonder if its a bit sharper than your other one. I was thinking just last night that the occasional burn which I used to get when I started both DE and str8 shaving is a thing of the past now that my technique is pretty much sorted.

I don't know how many str8 shave you have under your belt but it takes a lot of us a few months to get good shaves and even now, over a year into it, I am still learning and improving.
    Regards
    Nic

I always look forward to my weekend shaves, when I can take my time and enjoy it. Todays shave didn't disappoint, nice and smooth in 2 passes, but did another one just for fun.
Ahhhhhh EA...And what better way to start this weekend than with this fantastic combo. Well done and enjoy the weekend

You're welcome, but you know using several new products in one shave should not result in such irritation. It is rather unusual. But, I guess it does happen and when it does, it's just a matter of methodically eliminate the culprits. Have fun experimenting

Early start this morning with a good shave and a better breakfast. My grandson's first football game is this evening so I need to get into work early and out early.
Sounds like a great Friday start GI. Nice razor too. Enjoy your grandson's football game.

Rock & Roll Jack. What a fantastic choice today. I agree 100%...W&Bs have a solid reputation. Like the Swedish blades, I yet have to shave with one I didn't like

Honing Regimen: I touched it up on a La Dressante au Bleu, but needed a few passes on an Escher to get it all the way there.
Results: After finally dialing in the edge, it was a smooth and very comfortable shave this morning.Swedish steel is good stuff Al's products delivers every time. Bring on the weekend!!
Beautiful Helje B. What's your experience with the Coticules? I find that when I use them, I still need to finish the edges off a finer finisher. I can rarely get edges that are "shave-ready" right off the Coticule like most Coti experts can. Maybe I haven't used them long enough? Thoughts?

    Bill,
Forget the shave, the date night sounds like more fun, LOOL. What a beautiful lather that must have been. Enjoy your day in court buddy and have a great time with your wife.

Looking good Grant. Love the "old Persian-style" beard. Sometimes, even shaving needs a break

    Amund,
Great shave with the R41. Love the shot today. Very simple and elegant. What lens and aperture did you use. Looks like a 70+mm tele with 3.2 or less aperture. Just superb

Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens. I shot it at 1/160 at f/3.5 if I remember it right.
