Thumbs up Sun September 25th - Sat October 1st

    .
    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
Razor: Wade & Butcher 'The Celebrated' Extra Hollow
    Brush: Simpson Polo 10 - 2 band
    Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    AS: Ogallala bayrum / sandalwood
    EDC: Elizabeth Arden / sandalwood
Summary: After drooling over several W&B's this past week (not mine) I couldn't resist taking my W&B for a spin. It's for a good reason I consider this razor to be amongst my best shavers. BBS with no effort. Smooth, sharp and straight down to business. I went the whole Ogallala bay rum route. Shower, lather and AS splash. Divine. I ended up the evening outside with some Four Roses Bourbon and a delicious BBQ.
The last week of September 2011. Let's rock 'n roll guys!

A beautiful smooth shave, two pass shave with minor touch up, I was going to bid on a British mint boxed Aristocrat on Ebay that ended a day or two ago, but couldn't force myself to part with £94, plus postage, even though it would probably be worth it to a few people, but not to me . that doesn't mean i.m not interested in a mint British Aristocrat, but not at those prices.

Tsk! I just realised! I thought it was all one long thread; I've been posting in yesterday's for ages I think! I'll blame it on being GMT +9.5...

I don't think I'll ever see myself on page 1. I think I'd have to shave at 2 in the morning!!

This blade was a bit heavy for 1 day's worth of whiskers, but everything still came out smooth thanks to an uberlather of Mama' Bear's Beau Brummel, Bay Rum whipped shaving soap and some glycerin.

    Have a great Sunday Gents!

    Max,
Somehow I knew you were going to pull your W&B Extra Hollow today/last night. Yours looks absolutely stunning. Love the tang and the ever so slight smile on her. I wonder what I should shave with today, LOOOL?

    Jamie,
Sorry to hear about the Aristocrat, but patience buddy. She will show up at a very reasonable price one of these days. Hang in there bro and keep your eyes peeled

    Birnando,
Some blades are sooooo nice that size literally means nothing. This beautiful Puma seems to fit that bill. Well done and a great choice

    Have a nice day.
    Angel,
Great choice of products today, but sorry to hear about the Spike's performance. I guess off to the hones she goes. That AS mix sounds interesting.

This was quite the mystical shave with all the whiskers seeming to disappear with a wave of the razor. The thick, luxurious lather was so smooth and cushiony that the razor seemed to glide just above my face. My face is less wrinkled, my teeth seem straighter and I am at least an inch taller Amazing what a great shave can do
So, what you're saying is that you're a different man. Nice to meet the new Jack. beautiful transformative shave buddy. Love that razor

An excellent shave, family are coming for lunch soon. Despite the atrocious weather its turning into a very pleasant Sunday. Albeit a tiring one according to George, the cat.
    Nic,
Enjoy your lunch with family. George is not tired, he's deep into a trans as a result of that shave. Great job

    Tim,
What so special about ending up on page 1?? Everyone gets equal exposure no matter where they end up. After all, this is not like a newspaper where page 1 is the most important news. All pages are Super special. Which brings me to your SOTD; BEAUTIFULLY DONE BUDDY. I think that "heavy" blade is perfect.

What a nice grind and razor! E A Berg usually did hollow ground razors, but this blade's nowhere close to that.
Fabulous razor that Berg Mikael...and that brush? just lovely (where's mine??? I hate customs and the post office. They're probably enjoying it, LOL)

My new razor performed like a dream and I "used some heavy artillery" to accompany her the best that I could on her maiden SOTD voyage for You Gents -
It just made me sit out on the sunny terrace of a small&cute bistro with a glass of "close to absolute zero" cold G&T - a pure bliss, gentleman - A PURE BLISS!
Altogether, my first "H&R razor presentational shaving" was very successful indeed
    Andrej,
What a glorious shave. Congratulations on all fronts, not just the H&R and Penhaligon. EVERYTHING was just perfect in this one. What a day indeed. I am loving it
