Result:I apologize for my absence over the last week. I got into a bit of a funk when my High School band director passed away. He was so much more than a teacher to myself and so many others, he was a mentor and someone who taught me more about life than just about anyone. I went to his visitation 1 week ago, then went back to my high school for homecoming on Friday. I hadn't been back there in 16 years, hadn't seen many of my fellow band mates in the same time. It was humbling to see the lives that he touched. Sunday, I played guitar at church for both morning services. My cell phone rang (on silent mode) at the start of 2nd service while I was on stage and I wasn't able to answer it. I checked my voicemail as soon as I was done playing and learned that my Grandmother had just passed away. It was very difficult to finish playing at the end of church, but I made it through. I just struggled for the last week with keeping me together, much less posting, or even looking at the SOTD. I honestly think I was avoiding anything that might make me feel happy. I had shaves, they weren't memorable shaves, just going through the motions shaves. Today I felt a bit better, put on some “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” (my band directors influence) and really enjoyed my shave. I've got quite a few SOTD posts to read and I can say that I am looking forward to that (Thank God the cloud has passed)Today and Tomorrow's shaves are dedicated to the memory of my friend and Mentor & my Grandmother.

Hey guys,
Wife and I got back from a business/pleasure trip to Vegas...I am pretty tired and haven't had the opportunity to check out all that I have missed, but a quick scan tells me that I've missed quite a bit. So, allow me to say this:
WELL DONE GENTS
I've truly missed the brotherhood
Bill: sounds like you had a pretty nasty case of the cold/flu bro. Hope you feel better
Glenn: I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Teacher and grandmother. My wife and I's hearts are with you and your family brother. Please accept our sincerest condolences.
____________
Cheers,
Robert

.Locale: The house of dull razors Music: Los Lonely Boys - Almost Heaven Prep: Hot Shower / Greek Authentic Olive Oil Soap / Virgin Olive Oil Rub Razor: Fredrick Reynolds full Wedge in Micarta / Bockla 26 Hones: 3" chestnut leather 25/50 before 15/20 after Brush: Custom Silvertip in American Ash Post: Cold Water Splash - Alum - Tend Skin Uber: Sir Irisch Moos Creme AS: AOS After Shave Balm Edt: Black Leather Result: I just got this Reynolds from Douglas Cutlery. It arrived yesterday, but I was still working on my Salamandar. I was so burned up from the Salamandar shave yesterday, that I could barely make it all the way through one pass with my new razor. I was a little concerned though. It would pop hair off my arm no problem, but on my face it didn't seem to do anything. I had my Bockla that Roy honed on hand, just in case, and I put it to use almost immediately. I'm not sure I know how to shave with a full wedge like this. Another new experiment!! I hope my face heals quickly, I need a good shave.
Happy Shaves Men!!!!
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

What's that little person you have there Tom? Looks like some kind of autum harvest fairy, I like her a lot, hope to be seeing a lot more of her, but I do miss the old man Yoda.
