Post Week of October 2 SOTD - Wednesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Shavemac D01 Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 15/16" H.R. Böker #14 "Arbolito", Full Hollow Ground, (muted) Spike Point (w/ Black Horn scales)
Strop: 25/60 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: Al's Custom "Spicy" Shave Creme + Haslinger "Honey" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax
    Cologne: Creed "Tabarome" EdT
Results: It's great to be back (missed you guys). Wife and I returned from Vegas on business/pleasure and had a great time visiting Max and family (thank you for your hospitality maestro ). I only shaved on Monday with my DE (wonderfully smooth shave though), so today I was reaaaaaaaally looking forward to shaving with one of my straights. Question was which one ? My wife suggested the Arbolito/Shavemac combo. I love it when my wife gets involved in my shaving (or other) habits/hobbies. Makes this sport all that much more fun. . The Haslinger/Bomb combo was deliciously moist and fantastic, leading to a luxurious prep. The Arbolito had no problems wiping the 24 hr growth. What a feeling.

PS: This week, I am waiting for two special "treats" coming my way...stay tuned

    Have a DELICIOUS Wednesday gents.

Astringent: Osma Alum, rinse, Thayer's Medicated SuperHazel

We all know how difficult and draining it is to spend so much energy shopping for gorgeous razors all day...

    Beautiful set up, though, Bjornar!
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub
RAZOR: Merkur Slant with Feather Blade
    BRUSH: Rooney stubby XL2
    SOAP: Klar Seifen Sandalwood
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers
    ASB: Skinfood Sandalwood
    EDT: John Varvatos "Vintage"
    RESULTS: ONE FOR THE BOOKS
Couple of new things for me this shave. First up the Merkur Slant. If I couldnt use a straight this would be my next choice hands down. I was nearly BBS after 1 pass! That never happens with a DE, but yet I was also irritation free. This is going to be my go to DE from now on. Also the Rooney XL2 is a Fantastic brush, just the perfect amount of backbone and softness of the tips made for an excellent prep. The Klar Seifen is always an outstanding performer as well. Capped it off with a sample of John Varvatos "vintage" ( which I will be buying a bottle soon) and Im ready for a nice relaxing movie and lunch with the misses.
    HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY GUYS!!

    Cool Wednesday Morning

Another test shave on this Livi after the re-hone, this is number 8, and the edge seems to be holding strong

Simple is, what simple does this morning, as I had to make a Dump Run and was running late..

Jeff Foxworthy needs to use this one:
Ya might be a Redneck if you know what a "dump run" even is...
