Thanked: 485Wednesday
A military theme today, for a reason. It’s been about six months’ since I’ve been to the gym; normally I’m quite obsessive about it. The water bottle (just visible in the background) is my motivator. It’s the same water bottle I used as a Recruit Instructor when I used to join in my recruits’ Physical Training sessions, knowing I’d be treat ‘as a recruit’ by the Physical Training Instructors (i.e. no easy treatment) to demonstrate the whole “lead by example” thing.
I used to throw that bottle down with 48 others, and wager my pride, knowing I’d have to do better than or as good as all 48 in an even test.
Back when I was a recruit I learnt that all the things I thought I couldn’t do I actually could... IF someone else pushed me. It took me a little while to learn how to push myself.
I think when you’re young, and you overcome the mind, and realise the only thing stopping you is the physical limits of your body, it’s a happy moment...
Now I'm almost 50, it's the memory that's the motivator...

Your coffee photo's in the morning make my 7-11 coffee pale in comparison
Glenn I am very sorry for your losses. I can empathize with you. I lost three people this past March who were very dear to me, one being my grandmother and one being another woman I called Mom.
Godspeed my friend and if you need anything, don't hesitate to call.

Feather AC RG in Midnight Wood scales with Feather Light blade
SWK XL scuttle
Omega No. 48 boar brush
Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad shave cream
Korres Melograno day moisturizer
Thann Shiso after shave lotion
Two days stubble removed effortlessly in two passes. Straight shaving has already started to become part of standard routine, mind or face does not really want to shave with something else at the moment - and I really like that.
Of course one would argue that on the other hand there has been an inclination by the undersigned to stick to 'Lexus' style of shaving :P lately, as I tend to use a lot either the AC RG or the new SS. May be it is because I oiled all my straights last night as part of getting ready for the moving company coming in this or early next week to take my belongings back home.
The Feather Light blade is a mighty little devil, two small visits by Mr. Nick this morning, so good enough to make me miss the ProGuards.
