Well Carl the most masculine men I know wear pink, and if you want to treat your Women right you certainly need to be in touch with your feminine side[QUOTE=carlmaloschneider;864459]Thursday

    Jamie.

PS, Some men would balk at wearing pink cufflinks, but I can get away with it due to my manliness...

    Thursday

    Razor: 6/8 Dovo Best Quality
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Institut Karite
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

Second shaving using only the straight! Was a little heavy handed in a few spots and wound up with two very small nicks. Very smooth shave topped off with Pinaud Clubman to set the tone for the day!

You must have had some pretty serious eBay auctions closing to cause you to rush through your shave. What goodies did you buy this time?

Quick post about last nights shave.

I've been working a lot of hours lately, and I haven't had the energy for a real good shave lately. I went ahead and used the following configuration to get through a fast shave:

Razor: '34 Gillette DE 3 piece
Uber: TOBS Sandalwood and my V1 Georgetown Scuttle
    Brush: WD Custom 20mm Silvertip
Post: Alum and Humphrey's Witch Hazel
    AS: Pinaud Clubman
    Edt: Stetson for men

I'm beginning to lean toward the ease of the DE shave. It's nowhere near as close a shave as with a str8, but a 3 pass is a lot more comfortable to me. These DE's are so gentle. I use the Shark Super Chromes and they perform very well. I still had some rough spots after a full 3 passes, but that just must be the nature of the beast. If I did 3 passes with my str8's, I'd hardly have any skin left. hmmmmmm.

    Happy shaves men!!

Isn't it strange how mileage varies, for me the right blade and razor combo with a DE gives a better shave at the expense of comfort! With a DE I get weepers but with a straight I have none.

As my honing skills improve (?) this razor is becoming more enjoyable to use.

I'm a newbie to straight razor shaving, but have been using DE's for the last 3 years. Until I got a brand new Dovo last Friday, I've primarily saved straight razor shaving for the weekend (and will likely return to that more often as the newness of the new toy wears off). I love both DE and straight razor shaving, so I just need to figure out what works best for me. I have to admit that using a DE on workdays makes me feel less rushed because I haven't gotten as fast with a straight as I am with a DE.
