Week of October 23 SOTD - Monday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger w/ Olive wood handle Razor: 6/8" Hanamasa Kamisori, Yasuki Steel Honing (Refresh) regimen: 7:1 ratio Maruka Nakayama Kiita/Asagi Hybrid w/ Tomonagura sluury with serial dilution, fiinished on water + 7:1 ratio (light) laps on CrOx leather strop Strop: 5/30/15 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave "Pegasus III" Horse hide leather / Cordovan leather) Überlather: RazoRock "Cacao" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's "Almond" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax Cologne: Acca Kappa "1869" EdC Results: It had been quite some time that I had pulled my Kamisori...and not because the opportunity hadn't presented itself, but quite simply because I was (and still am) intimidated by her. This is even in the face of our "great" past relationship. This blade is always out for blood and commands respect. So, I decided to face the music and go for it. She likes a firm but light touch and today, she must have been satisfied as she delivered one of her smoothest shaves to date. Zero irritation, zero bleeders. The lather played a key role in this regard. The Thäter whipped up a beautifully fragrant, moist and thick white playing field unto which the Kamisori was all too happy to perform. What a MAGICAL shave .
Have a SPLENDID Monday gentlemen.

Ouuuchhh buddy,
Sounds like Murphy was paying you a visit Sunday...Everthing seemed to go wrong. But don't worry, Murphy gets bored fairly fast and will leave you in favor of another poor soul and what is bound to catapult your shave to another level
Sorry about your Bucs losing GI, but a good shave is always a nice pick me upper
Great to see you back...and what a nice shave too
Ahhhh Max...it'll be nice to see you give that Damascus a good run for its money
Hey Frank...I can already see Pax loving to get shave lessons from his dad...What lovely combination today
Darn...I totally forgot and I have a bunch of shots I need to unload before a new batch. I'll see if I can do Halloween shots (maybe some, not all)
It's nice to see some familiar faces around SOTD. Beautiful DD. Those scales were John's work, right?
Paul,
When did you wound yourself again. Glad to hear you're healing well though. Can't wait to see that French frameback of yours soon
jdto,
Welcome to the fold buddy. It's nice to have new blood around here. Spices things up a bit. Congrats on a wonderful shave.
EA,
Oh my...I love that brush. Just beautiful. And so is your TI
And a nice gear it is (and was) D. Well done buddy
Tom,
You are not supposed to shoot your whiskers, just shave it, LOOOOOL.
So, now you have your Magnum that's Buddelized too, LOOOOL?
In all seriousness: GREAT shave gear my friend
Recycled or not Jamie, that's one beautiful shot and some great gear I love it
Konstantinos,
Nice to see that you're finding time to post in the midst of your travel. How's it going? Are you in Korea yet?
Beautiful W&B jack...Love the scales
That sounds like a brutal schedule mate...I can certainly sympathize. Hang tough mate
PS: Thanks for the very kind words Grant...They are appreciated. What can I say? You guys' shaves inspire me. These days it's a bit tougher to find the time to make individual comments that each and every post deserves, but I will do my best. Some days more than others.
A gorgeous and delicious all around shave Bill. Love the Fontana. Did Max fix/replace the scales yet? Judging from the pinning, not yet?
Joe,
Perfect choice with this Engels. She is a wonderful one indeed. I love mine too
Sorry about the nick Angel, but looks like Oriol enjoyed his day and made you proud. Good job. Kids are such a joy to be around...Nothing beats that.
Wowww Oscar,
This date you will remember forever. And it is just as simple as that. it's an overnight "Click". One day you're getting just OK shaves and then all of a sudden. BOOOOM!!! it just clicks. Congratulations. Don't worry about psyching yourself...It is a real click. It just gets better from here on out. Enjoy the ride
Oh my Monroe...I see Proraso everwhere. I hope I don't end up dreaming about it tonight, LOOOL. beautifully executed my friend. I can tell that you're going to have one smooth day
Rene,
Nice dedication to the victims in Turkey. The city of Van (a historic city btw...my sister was baptized in one of oldest churches there) has a heavy Armenian population.
Nice shave buddy. Very nice
Nicely done BM
Excellent choices Jeff, although shaving while half asleep is a dangerous proposition, LOOOL.
David,
It's so nice seeing you around these neck of the woods. Fantastic shave gear
That is one smooth shaver B. Well done my friend.
Lovely, just lovely
A shave worthy of Kings...but wait, you ARE the King ;-)

Thank you so much Robert.
Yes, you're right. I'm very proud. My son has problems with his self-esteem and yesterday he was very confident doing this activity. But I want to apologize to the brotherhood to include a personal issue in this thread and not in other part.
Angel.

LMAO, The Red IMP jumped out and got me Fri night. Never even felt it until the blood started going. I was making short fast WTG on the right side of my mouth and took a layer of skin off. Oops! I should be back on Wed. Just growing out the yard until I can mow properly.
