Post Week of October 23 SOTD - Monday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger w/ Olive wood handle
Razor: 6/8" Hanamasa Kamisori, Yasuki Steel
Honing (Refresh) regimen: 7:1 ratio Maruka Nakayama Kiita/Asagi Hybrid w/ Tomonagura sluury with serial dilution, fiinished on water + 7:1 ratio (light) laps on CrOx leather strop
Strop: 5/30/15 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave "Pegasus III" Horse hide leather / Cordovan leather)
Überlather: RazoRock "Cacao" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's "Almond" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "1869" EdC
Results: It had been quite some time that I had pulled my Kamisori...and not because the opportunity hadn't presented itself, but quite simply because I was (and still am) intimidated by her. This is even in the face of our "great" past relationship. This blade is always out for blood and commands respect. So, I decided to face the music and go for it. She likes a firm but light touch and today, she must have been satisfied as she delivered one of her smoothest shaves to date. Zero irritation, zero bleeders. The lather played a key role in this regard. The Thäter whipped up a beautifully fragrant, moist and thick white playing field unto which the Kamisori was all too happy to perform. What a MAGICAL shave .

    Have a SPLENDID Monday gentlemen.

    Default Monday

    Pre-Shave: A shower
    Brush: Shavemac D01, 2 band
    Razor: Juan Vollmer, Palmera #14
    Strop: Kanayama #90000
Soap/Cream: Taylor of Old Bond street, Lavender
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
Astringent: Osma Alum, rinse, Thayer's Medicated SuperHazel
    EdT: Penhaligon's English Fern
Results: A very close and comfortable shave. Yet another Spanyard that delivers the goods in flying colors. The TOBS soap isn't all that to be honest. That might just go in to the big mix of soaps that makes my "specials"

    Ouuuchhh buddy,
Sounds like Murphy was paying you a visit Sunday...Everthing seemed to go wrong. But don't worry, Murphy gets bored fairly fast and will leave you in favor of another poor soul and what is bound to catapult your shave to another level

It's nice to see some familiar faces around SOTD. Beautiful DD. Those scales were John's work, right?

Thanks for all the great posts and pics gentlemen and in particular to Robert for his huge contribution with his individual comments. He helps make SRP SOTD the best place to hang out on the internet. We all appreciate it.
That sounds like a brutal schedule mate...I can certainly sympathize. Hang tough mate

PS: Thanks for the very kind words Grant...They are appreciated. What can I say? You guys' shaves inspire me. These days it's a bit tougher to find the time to make individual comments that each and every post deserves, but I will do my best. Some days more than others.

    Wowww Oscar,
This date you will remember forever. And it is just as simple as that. it's an overnight "Click". One day you're getting just OK shaves and then all of a sudden. BOOOOM!!! it just clicks. Congratulations. Don't worry about psyching yourself...It is a real click. It just gets better from here on out. Enjoy the ride

Excellent choices Jeff, although shaving while half asleep is a dangerous proposition, LOOOL.

Yes, you're right. I'm very proud. My son has problems with his self-esteem and yesterday he was very confident doing this activity. But I want to apologize to the brotherhood to include a personal issue in this thread and not in other part.

LMAO, The Red IMP jumped out and got me Fri night. Never even felt it until the blood started going. I was making short fast WTG on the right side of my mouth and took a layer of skin off. Oops! I should be back on Wed. Just growing out the yard until I can mow properly.
