It's one of those razors, thank you! I remember a lovely Helje MK 33 (maybe it was a 32, things like that have a tendency to grow with your memory ) in ivory scales that Amund (may his soul RIP) sniped from me way back. I had put down a too low bid and was hoping to get it cheapo (it didn't say/read anywhere it was a 33/big one). Amund got it cheap and it turned out to be a a very nice shaver and in excellent nick and he was well worth that razor (you don't see them that often now ).

Tuesday shave has been completed. My first custom straight, Brian Brown 8/8 Spanish point was selected again, I am very satisfied with the razor, incredible sharp when delivered from Brian.

Dr. Harris Arlington shave cream, Simpson Tulip 3 brush and SW-keramic XL scuttle was my other weapon of choice today. Two passes later I was happy and smooth like a kid Christmas day. Finished with a large splash of Proraso aftershave cream.

Some have may seen the discussion about vintagestraightrazor.com (not Max's website, note the lack of s at the end), and a member on another forum bought two and sent one to me for evaluation. It looked decent enough at first, but that ended soon. The scales are to big, and the blade doesn't center good enough.
Under the scope the "edge" was a nightmare, it took a few minutes on the DMT 325 to remove a bunch of small chips along the edge.
And the moment I put it on the hones, I could see the blade also was quite warped, lovely. After a looong time on the 1k I barely got it too pass the TNT , and the honed it as any other straight. After a good stropping the edge looked fine enough under magnification.
After a good prep and whipping up some nice MdC I started shaving. Felt good enough, quite smooth even, but the blade had a different sound than any other blade I've used. Halfway through the first pass I stopped and checked the shave so far, pretty lousy, not much hair removed at all, on par with a disposable cart used for a couple weeks maybe, promising!
And it was all downhill from there, at the end of the first pass it wasn't smooth at all anymore, had to go lighter and ligther, but I still attempted a 3-pass shave per normal. Needless to say, I had to finish the shave with a good razor to look presentable for work. I'll give it another go at the hones, but I'm 99,99% sure it will be futile, this is crap steel that can't hold an edge no matter what, just as expected. A Gold Dollar is waaaay better, that should tell you something.

No photo today, that RSO doesn't deserve to be pictured. I'll send that poor guy that bough two of these a real straight in return, so at least he can learn on something decent.
