    Default Friday

    Friday Shave (aka Bloody Friday)

Yesterday I re-honed a Karbon King 5/8 square point I bought off a fellow on another forum three years ago which he claimed was shave-ready. After using a Lynn-honed razor and one from Glen I realized that it was probably not, or I killed the edge with sloppy honing - ANYWAY...I honed it, Dovo pasted it, and then stropped carefully and BAM! a brand new razor, which gave a very nice shave. Unfortunately I cut the top off a blemish and am still bleeding . Todays set up:

    Karbon King 5/8
    Badger Brush
KMF Lavender and Patchoulli (dark lavender) SC
    Thayer's
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    Nivea Sensitive ASB
    Styptic !!! lots of it
    L'Occitane Vetyver Cologne

plus - a photo! my first SOTD pic

    Friday 12/23/11

    Cattaruagus Cutlery 5/8
    La Toja Manantiales ss
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Musgo Real a/s balsam
    Woods of Windsor a/s
    Woods of Windsor Edt

Another fine shave with the Cattaraugus Cutlery which I recently touched up with a barber's hone. The La Toja soap is terrific, another extinct product that always worked well. Why do they always seem to stop making great products? The Woods of Windsor Edt is another such example. And today will be better than yesterday.

A quick post today as I am about to drive north for Christmas day with family, So excuse the incomplete photo. I recently acquired a beautiful 1974 Gillette Super Adjustable DE as a quicker alternative to my SR's. Today I finally got around to giving it a go and I must say it performed excellently with an Astra blade. Little to no irritation on setting 3 for all passes. It was teamed with Body Shop Maca Root cream, my SRP Thater fan and Thayers original.

Have a very merry Christmas everyone!
