Robert, good to see you back, thanks for the kind words about the W&B. I was amazed as how easy it was to get an edge and how nice it was to shave with.
Thank you for this post. It echoes my sentiments about the group of gentleman who frequent these pages. My fondest wishes to everyone for a healthy and happy holiday season.
I hope you feel well very soon. best of health in the future.
I am glad you enjoyed your shave.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Well, Frank, judging by my abilities is setting the bar extremely low, but if you're comfortable with it then by all means good luck! I will admit, I was a bit nervous given what I'd heard about this DE. And, while my shave was blood free, I can tell I got good advice when I was informed that my R89 was a lap kitten whereas the R41 is an 800 pound tiger that hasn't eaten for a few days...

You da man Carl...I love the fact that you wear your heart on your sleeve. What you see is what you get with you. I like that. No guess work as to where you stand. Thank you for sharing (mainly yourself) with this forum and a very Merry Christmas to you and family (especially Bailey). Give the little guy a BIG hug from us.
Thank you buddy. It means a lot
Woaaaaah Jamie. I am so sorry to hear about your hospitalization brother. Back problems are never fun. I guess being a vertebrate has it's downsides. Get well soon brother and take it easy. No point in playing macho man with your health.
What a gorgeous shave D.
Thank you Grant. It certainly feels great to be back. I somehow feel more complete
Jack,
What a lovely shave. And I love your supervisor, Despereaux
Congrats on the R41 Bill. I take it you like this DE, LOOOOOL
Wowwww Grant. What a great shave with a great razor. Those suckers hold some of the best edges around. Well done
Nice setup BM
That is one beautiful razor (and box) Amund. The snow runs "chills" down my spine though
Beautiful shave and shot Joe and thank you for the kind words
I know what you mean GI...the upper lip seems to be one of hardest areas to shave. beautiful razor though
Excellent choice of soap Johnny
Thank you brotha...and BIG +1 on the W&B
Oh my...check out that blade. What a nice piece of steel.
Ali,
Excellent razor. I just realized that despite having shaved with a Greaves, I don't own one. Time to remedy the situation

You tease! The man with every scarce and expensive straight known to man tells us he's going to break out a new acquisition that he terms "very very special" and then leaves us hanging. I just don't know if this could ever be considered acceptable behavior in a gentlemanly forum!

12-23-2011, 05:08 PM #239AOS soap and cream(lavender and ocean kelp)-Fatboy DE with feather blade on 4-lubriderm 3 in 1-Thierry Mugler Pure Malt Cologne
so I'm wlking through the mall yesterday with SWMBO and what do I see but an AOS store. I thought, yay me! well after looking through it I was less then impressed. No knowledgeable staff, VERY overpriced products and a vibrating brush!!! WTF????? For the low price of $$$300??? Then one of them tells me he uses a straight with GOO!!!!!!!!
I should have left then. I told him he would do himself well to check out this site. I decided to try their Lavander soap and ocean kelp cream. I am very unimpressed. The lavender is poor smelling. The cream smells better but neither lathers all that well. It reminds me of EJ soaps and creams in their quality. Very slimy, poor cushion. I prefer mounds of thick lather such as MDC or Cella or TOBS. Not this.
OK so how was my SOTD??? the DE Fatboy helped but I will be using these for travel soaps as I wont care if they are left or stolen etc.

Friodur Madness Razor: 8/8 Henckells Friodur in Black Horn with Cow Bone wedge (thanks Maxi!) Brush: 28mm Frank Shaving Richmond Silvertip Strop: episaacs Roo strop Lather: T&H Trafalgar Astringent: Witch Hazel ASB: T&H Trafalgar Cologne: T&H Trafalgar Comments: After five days without a shave, this one was welcome! I was holding off on shaving until I could pick up the newly-rescaled razor from Maxi. The Friodur glided through the growth like it wasn't there and the Trafalgar products filled my nostrils with their wonderful scent. A great Friday morning vacation shave! I'll get around to updating The Noob Chronicle in a while. Merry Christmas, my SOTD Brothers!
