Thanked: 485Wednesday
Sorry I haven’t posted a SOTD for a while, but I had nothing really meaningful to say and I’ve been a little busy, with children’s birthdays and getting ready for Christmas, etc.
I’ve really enjoyed a few posts on the forum recently; mainly about scrambled eggs (you may know what I’m referring to) and the helpful hints I received in response to my post on ‘vendors getting their act together’.
This morning’s shave was not TOO bad; a WTG and ATG with the Wade and Butcher. I browsed through Maxi’s gallery last night and felt quite proud to see my razor there! It would be so good to have the skills of guys like Maxi and Baldy; the restorations I see here are truly amazing. I see a new TV show in the making; ‘Pimp My Blade’...
Gotta learn a bit more about honing (was amused by the ‘discussion’ on You Tube between a particular ‘cutlery’ guy and someone else on honing techniques) to get my blades up to scratch. I think I need to find a honemiester in Australia. I’d like an opinion on my edges and then a fix up of a couple of them. I also need to concentrate on saving up for the next razor, and STICK to it instead of getting sidetracked with Bay Rum, Creams, Soaps, Clubman, etc.
The Body Shop Macca Root (1st tub) is almost all gone. Excellent product. I keep scooping out too much forgetting how WELL it EXPLODES! If you haven’t tried this, do yourselves a favour (as Molly would say; Aussies will understand; poor fellow; hope he’s OK...).

A later than usual shower and shave tonight after taking the kids for an evening drive to look at the neighborhood Christmas lights. So I just had a quick 2 pass head shave.
Everything performed well, a great and quick shave, left me feeling smooth and relaxed.
Time to read some forums.
Thanks for all the great posts and pics boys

This was a shave so nice, and I could pick between pictures, so I decided I'd show it twice:
Filarmonica EPBD 8/8 | Thäter Flat Top | SRD Bulgarian Rose + Bomb Rose/Sandalwood | Thayers Lavender | Domenico Caraceni 1913
I received this razor yesterday courtesy of the generosity of a good friend here on the forum. What a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas week! The edge he put on it was incredibly sharp and oh so smooth. It was combined with the most luxurious of überlathers. The den smelled amazing through the shave! My two days of growth absolutely melted before this razor. After one pass, I could have stopped and been near BBS all day long. But that's not what we do here! i lathered up for a second blissful pass and was left totally BBS. I truly wanted to keep going, because it was just such a great shave, but realized there was nothing left to shave. So, I lathered up a third time and just let the intoxicating smell of the suds linger on my skin.
