Mühle R41 + Gillette Spoiler | Cade Überlather | SRD 2011 Thäter Bulb | Sabon ASB | Villoresi Vetiver

What a shave! I'd heard guys talk about this new R41 as an aggressive razor; they were not wrong! I heard it cutting whiskers before it even touched my face. Amund (Blix) warned me to make sure I had a good lather, so I spent some extra time building the Cade into a nice creamy bit of heaven. When I loaded the blade, I could immediately tell this was not like my R89. A LOT of blade sticks out. But, I gently took the razor to my face and it glided effortlessly. After one pass, I was beyond DFS and almost BBS. But I had so much fun that I couldn't bear to not do a second pass. After that run, it rivaled my best BBS from a straight. This is one serious DE.

Gentlemen, I wish you all the happiest of holidays!

    Default 2 more sleeps....

    Strop: Osgar Vintage Shell Horse
    Brush: Silvertip Badger
Soap: TOBS Lemon & Lime (Thank you Rene)
    Razor: Bengall Full Concave 11/16
    Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Old Spice
Recently Rene sent me a bunch of samples, and of the ones I've tried the TOBS Lemon & Lime is a real stand out.
I just love the smell of this stuff and it performs just as well as it smells.
The Bengall, despite not going near a hone in 10 months still holds a superb edge.
BBS in 2 and a half passes. Another Stellar shave.

    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: T. Noonan and Sons Arabic
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Speick shavestick
AS: Alum Block, Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Nivea ASB
    Finish: English Leather Cologne

The upper lip area is still a major P.I.T.A to shave. Lots of strange angles/stuff in the way (probably made worse by the fact that this is a big razor.) But you know at one time, my entire face felt awkward and uncomfortable shaving with a straight and that went away so I'm sure the moustache area difficulties will do likewise. On the other hand I may just grow my stash back and end the whole discussion. Either way, problem solved.
