Wow! Just had a look at that thread, that's excellent! I love the way you made the notch, and the re-shaped toe is really cool too, and I love the scales, esp how they're a bit transparent. You're obviously a great craftsman...

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: New Forest, 2201
    Razor: Max Sprecher
    Soap: GFT Sandalwood
    AS: Proraso
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Very, very clean

First go with this soap and I like it and I had read up on it and it was harder than other soaps to lather and I still can get it better, I think. First time ever I flooded my enormous SWK scuttle as well, since I loaded like mad + had water on the soap for a minute or two. But what about the razor you're wondering by now - it was AWESOME!

Toyo Special | La Toja Manatiales | Thäter LE 2011 Bulb | Thayers Lavender | Sabon | Pascal Morabito Or Black

What a great way to start this holiday week! The Toyo was smooth and sharp. I was BBS on all but the most challenging places after a single pass. Just did a few touch ups and left it with that. My face feels great, and I smell wonderful too. Everything is starting out on the right foot here!

    Dominic,

    Thanks chief...

Yes indeed! This is the second Western style Japanese straight razor I've tried and the very first added to my collection.

    She's a keeper.

    Prep: Hot Shower
    Razor: C.V. Heljestrand Mk4
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Finish: Crusellas Kolonia 1800 Sandalwood

Cut the moustache off yesterday. So today was only about the second time shaving my upper lip in the last 15 years or so and definitely the second time with a straight razor on the upper lip. No blood so far but it just kind of feels awkward. SWBO digs the baby face look but I sure can't say I'm a big fan.
