01-06-2012, 01:03 AM #251First JaNorton Shave
Prep: Hot Shower with Real Shaving Creamy Face Wash Razor: W&B 5/8 Bow Razor Brush: Omega Pro 49 Scuttle: Robert Becker #9 Black Strop: 100/100 SRD Premium IV/50 episaacs homemade 'roo Lather: DRH Marlborough Soap AS: DRH Marlborough ASB: Trumper's Unscented Cologne: DRH Marlborough Comments: My first JaNorton shave wasn't the greatest. The amazing edge I had on my Bow Razor is gone, replaced by one that is much rougher. Since I honed it on Nortons before, I know I can get it back to at least where it was, if not better. Back to the stones. I'll update The Noob Chronicle shortly with the full story. Happy shaving, my SOTD Brothers!

Good Morning Friends,
Prep: Shower.
Strop: SRD Premium 1 leather 30,70.
Brush: Thater, SRP 2011 Edition.
Soap: Palmolive, Classic, Stick.
Razor: TI Spartacus, Ebony Scales.

It's the weekend here, and we have the Semis and Finals of the ExxonMobil Open Mens Tennis Tournament, today and tomorrow. I have managed to blag VIP tickets for both days. I'm hoping that both Federer and Nadal make it through to the final, that will be one to watch.
Oh, the shave, yeah, that was good.
Have a Great Day

Thanked: 485Friday!!!
Quite happy it’s Friday, I must say. Not that it’s been a bad first week back to work. Whiled away the time this afternoon by trying to create some code that would display a msg box if any records in a table had a false value for a yes/no check box in the Education centre database I developed. Found a really simple way on the ‘net using DCount that had like only four lines of code. I’ll have to store that one for later use.
This morning’s shave was a pleasure. The second time using the Törnblom (now that I have over 1000 posts I’m allowed to refer to my razors by their last name; in a matey, jokey sort of way “How ya going Törnblom”, “How’s it hanging Berg..Lookin’ SHARP, brother!”...). The edge was very smooth. Maybe it can be sharper; but it was smooth. I liked gssixgun’s comment (I think it was) about the difference between sharp and smooth in the JaNorton thread. That thread is actually an extremely interesting and effective learning mechanism; collaborative group learning and teaching in a supportive environment. An interesting social topic too, how learning and sharing of information is becoming extremely fast and broad and global very quickly.
Anyone agree that Musgo real and Pinaud Clubman go EXTREMELY well together? They both have that baby powderish smell that’s so calming when it’s hot...
I forgot to explain the Southwark, I wasn't drinking for this morning's shave (not that there's anything wrong with that), I take my photo when I get home from work. Southwark is a South Australian bitter beer and is a classic...
Razor: Klas Törnblom Pre Shave: Proraso Cream : Musgo Real ASB: None After Shave: Pinaud Clubman/Burberry ‘The Beat’ Eau de Toilette

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 1072TGIF Shave
Strop: Osgar Vintage Shell Horse
Brush: Comoy Badger
Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Razor: Unknown Sheffield Wedge
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
A/S: David Craig Bay Rum
After cutting myself on my last two shaves I must admit I was actually a little nervous tonight.
I'm pleased to report a 3 pass BBS without so much as a nick.
The L'Occitane is good stuff, I dont use it nearly enough.
I'm feeling great after this shave, and ready for the weekend.
Thanks for all the great posts and pics boys, enjoy your weekend.
