Great Sheffield steel never fails to disappoint. Nearly a one pass BBS. Only needed a slight touch-up on the second pass. Have a great week.

    Default Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
    Razor: Henckels Friodur 721/2
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/Kanayama Cordovan
    Soap: La Toja Stick
    After shave: Nivea Balm
Results: Testing the new Thuri today, as I did with the MK I gave it a few strokes on the 8K to kill the original finish, then 10 strokes w/slurry and 10 on plain water. The edge was nice and smooth, on par with the SS12K, but I believe it got more potential, being a stainless blade it might be in need of a few more strokes. I will try to give it five more of each before next shave and see if it can lift the edge a little bit more. All in all a very nice, comfortable and close shave.

Need help or tutoring? Check out the  .

Second Shave with the JaNorton razors. Today is Spike #2 facing a weeks worth of Beard growth.

I had to let a pretty bad cut heal on the right side of my face, and today is the day.

I got an amazingly clean 2 pass shave with my Spike.

    Prep: Hot shower / Conditioner
    Razor: 9/16 Union Cutlery Spike
    Hone: Norton 4/8, 3" Big Daddy 50/100
Soap: RazoRock XXX + Sir Irisch Moos
    Post: Alum + Lucky Tiger
    EdT: Cuba Gold
Result: Worth every minute I waited for it. It had a little tug, but after all it was a week ago I last shaved, and the old grey hairs are tough as wire, so I didn't really blame the razor, as there was no nicks, cuts or irritation. It was one incredible shave.

    Happy Shaving Men!!!

Effortless and awesome with a razor that never disappoints. I'd given it a few laps on a crox strop before the shave and the HHT was a silent fall apart. BBS

    Soap/Creme: Cella
    Razor: Merkur Slant
    Blade: Gillette (dark blue pack)
    Pre: How Towel
Post: alum followed by Witch Hazel
    Hair Groom: Gables Creme Oil
Result: Got a DFS after 3 passes and was liking the blade, so I went for a 4th to try for BBS. I mostly got it, but also got a little irritation. Sometimes it is best to know when to stop. ;>

Sunday's shave - A JaNorton Dubl Duck Wonderedge

6/8 Round point Dubl Duck Wonderegdr - 25 webbing, 50 leather
    Badger brush
Art of Shaving Lavender Shave Cream
Thayer's / Aqua Velva Blue / Nivea ASB
    Bigelow Blue cologne

This my first shave with a Dubl Duck. I think I might like the weight and balance, but I might need to head it back to the Norton and work on the edge a bit. I have a bit of redness on my chin that could be technique and a new razor combo, or the edge might not be there.
