Valentine's Day Shave
Prep: Hot Shower + Musgo Pre Shave Oil
Scuttle: DB 1.5
Brush: Jack Black Synthetic
Suds: Mama Bear's Bay Rum + GFT Lime Cream + 4 Drops Glycerin
Razor: DD Special #1 5/8 dressed in Jade Ghost G10 by GSSIXGUN
Post: Alum + WH
AS: TOBS Bay Rum
ASB: CO Bigelow Bay Rum
Cologne: CO Bigelow Bay Rum
Comments: I think Glen had the DD posted for maybe 5 min before I PMed him to let him know I was going to take it off his hands. It got here this weekend but I had to wait till the RA flare subsided and today was that day. Glen but a great edge on her with his escher and I was BBS after 3 full passes. The JB brush seemed to like the soap/cream combo as today'as lather was the best I've had since starting this little experiment. Well, now its time to get some work done and wait till SWMBO gets off work.

@BenjamanBarker, excellent day for you my friend, many years of complete happiness is wished your direction!! Congrats bro!
Today's shave:
Razor: 5/8 Dame, Stoddard & Kendall fresh off the hones
Prep: Hot shower, hair conditioner rub
AS: Witch Hazel & Alum
Edt: Drakkar Noir
This razor spent the most time on a hone of any razor I have ever tried to hone. A bevel on the 4k using Lynn's circles, a good polishing on the 8k, 150 laps on the C12k, which is an incredibly hard stone and a light polishing with CrOx and balsa, 25 on clean felt and 200 laps on the chestnut leather.
Result: Much burn and bumps and later itching like crazy. I tried using the lightest pressure and incredible attention to my angles as well. I was so light that it hardly took the top off the stubble. 3 light passes yielded less than a DFS shave.
I must admit to getting pretty frustrated with my own edges. Despite my best efforts, I just don't get a good shave from my own edge. I'm going back to my other razors for a week or two to let the old (and getting older every day) face recover for a bit.
Happy Valentines day to all the lovers out there! Enjoy this day with your sweethearts and remind them how much you love them!!!!
Wishing great shaves for all!!
M-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --
