Thanked: 485Wednesday
Just another shitty day in one of the main cess pools of Adelaide with society’s evil and downtrodden for company, but the pre-shitty day shave was nice…
Excellent job from the Törnblom, not a bad lather from the O Melhor. I’ve lost my lathering mojo just lately, need to get it back.
It was really good last night to 'talk shaving' with my 21 year old son. I tested his Emil Kronenberg Snr, which is a plain razor but a nice razor to shave with. I only shaved ½ my face last night to test it, but it was good to hear him say “Ok, so that’s how you get that bit”. Then I showed him ATG under the jawline. He tried it out for himself and stated he’d do that from now on. You know, even though I’ve now shaved with a straight for more than ½ a year it still makes my skin crawl to see someone SR shave; it STILL looks so dangerous. It’s still like watching one of those wacky Guinness Book of Record things where someone swallows a sword or chews glass or something…
Cufflinks of the day were Antique red glass and brass. I got these for 8 bucks US a couple of years ago. I left some of the brass unpolished, with some patina. I do like patina…

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Hi guys,
Shave prep: Hot shower
Brush: D.R. Harris
Soap: Penhaligon English Fern--the wonderful scent can still be enjoyed a day later...
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
Razor: Max Sprecher Custom square point 8/8 - 1/4 hollow
Strop: Kanayama 30+ strokes on the leather
After Shave: Nivea aftershave Balm
Notes: This was one of the shaves when you know, before you apply aftershave, that this was super smooth.
The MSC 8/8 is still a great joy and I am savoring it to these special occasions where you just need an extra special shave with an extraordinary razor.
Thanks,
Paul
