I had an amazing shave today! I feel like I am finally really understanding the how my razors, skin, and soap work. Now I am able to put all of the aspects of my shave together an achieve a wonderful result.
Prep: Hot Shower, Apricot Scrub
Soap: The Soap Opera Himilaya w/ Shea Butter & Soy (The soap in the picture isn't the one I used, I just wanted to show what the packaging looks like)
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (1st pass: setting 2, 2nd pass: 3, 3rd pass: 4)
Bowl: Vintage Brown Earthenware
Brush: Shea Moisture Badger Brush
Post: Thayer's Unscented, and maybe some Nivea (the shea and soy soap is so moisturizing I'm not sure if I even need to apply an aftershave balm!)
Music: The Bass channel on JazzRadio.com
Result: An amazing shave!

Thanked: 88Today is the big day!!!
Razor: 6/8 Hart Steel
Prep: hot water, Barbasol
Brush: van der Hagen boar
Soap: Shea Moisture Shave Butter (and Barbasol)
A/S: witch hazel
My last shave was also today, but nearly 18 hours ago. When I got the new razor in the mail, I just had to try it instead of waiting. Wow, what a razor, what a presentation. I shave the first two passes without even stropping it, and gave it 50 laps on leather before the ATG. BBS. I'm very happy with this razor.

Dave,
That's a beautiful straight razor. Congrats!
May you have many, many enjoyable shaves with it.

Thanked: 4Prep: hot shower + glycerin soap
Brush: Homemade w/ best badger knot
Shaving cream: Barbon
Razor: Shavette from besthave.net
AS: Barbon After Shave
Today was an only short shaving, with shavette, and I did only one XTG pass. The result is fine, and now we start a circus and playing house with my kids...
Ps: the color of the scales a little bit strange.Last edited by jrabi; 04-28-2012 at 05:27 AM.
