Friday - day off work shave

Razor - Wade & Butcher "You Lather Well I'll Shave Well" 5/8 Wedge
Brush - Eveready handle with Best Badger re-knot
    Soap: Conk Lime
After: Thayer's / Pinaud Lime Musk as AS / Nivea ASB
    Scent: Pinaud Lime Sec cologne

I was struggling with this wedge - I find it quite awkward to strop, and I think I rolled the edge and it was awful to use. I picked up some lapping film recently and I went back to this razor and re-honed it. Not as nice an edge as as Lynn or Glen would give it, but the film has brought this wedge back into shaving shape. I am surprised looking at this photo at how beaten up the scales are....I might have a go at making some out of some rosewood I have around, or might try some micarta.

I am really liking the Conk Lime soap - I find it gentle on my face, gives terrific glide, and the scent is very mild and fresh. Paired with the Pinaud scents... perfect combo for a sunny Friday in Vancouver.

Saturday morning shave (clean and awful )

Prep: training + shower + Proraso Pre & Post Cream - Aloe & Green Tea
    Brush: Tweezerman
    Strop: Dovo Juchten Paddle
Cream: Proraso Shaving Cream with Eucalyptus Oil and Menthol
Razor #1: Thier Issard Silverwing II french point 5/8 #177 full hollow ground, horn scales
    Razor #2: Wade&Buther
Post: Proraso Pre & Post Cream - Aloe & Green Tea

Well guys it was one of my wost shaves. First of all I decided to make some experiments today:
    1. Shave straight ATG, so I wanted to make one shave pass and have clean face.
    2. Try to make lather with the cream directly on the face, with out using bowl.

First part of shave went great, I shaved my left side with dominant hand with TI razor, but as I was lathering with out bowl I decided to add more water and re-lather. I put my razor on the shelf near mirror, and after I lathered I managed to kick razor down into the sink.... well I can tell that I was really LUCKY as it have only one small nick and rolled edge, no big nicks or cracks... Now I think you can understand my felling, I was forced to take another razor and finish my shave.

Result on experiment #1: It was good shave before I drop razor, after that I was not in the mood and finish my shave in hurry. So definetly sometimes I can go straight ATG, I have clean shave but my face don't feel right, I have no visible irritation but I feel that I have it.
Result on experiment #2: I was all in the cream and in the water after it))) so I prefer to make lather in the bowl.

    Nick on my razor

Well it's not such a big nick and I think I can hone it out on my own, but I will not as it's my one of best razors and the most expensive. I think it's time to try Lynn or Glen service (I will contact them for more informations), unfortunally I'll lose some money on shipping but I don't want to give this razor to local hone-master, as I had some controversy with him after his last work.... The biggest problem that I will need to leave it for more than month

Sorry guys for so many negative amotions in the Saturday morning Have nice weekends!
