Thanked: 485Wednesday
Well, well, well. Who would have thought it would come to this; my one year anniversary shave. When Blix posted his the other night I had to try really hard not to blurt out excitedly “it’s mine tomorrow!”.
I’m so happy I stumbled across this art, I think via The Art of Manliness page, and I think I got on to THAT site by looking up cuff links or bow ties or something (I re-thought the bow tie thing). I’m also so glad I joined this forum and not ‘the other’, not that there’s anything wrong with ‘the other’, it’s just that I’ve looked at it and like the layout and ‘feel’ of this one better.
I’d also like to sincerely thank everyone for making me feel so welcome and being so genuinely helpful and downright nice and putting up with my outlandish comments and tendency to go off topic. I’d also like to thank those who I’ve bought razors from. I have at times considered selling one or two, but can’t bring myself to do so, as they have a special meaning. I think it’s a very real indication of the good nature of the guys here when I consider that each of the razors I purchased came with an bonus gift.
Below I’ve included one of my first posts (not the first, the first was when I was still awaiting my razor), but the one posted on the night of the first shave. I’ve also included the link. It’s actually quite hilarious, I think maybe I was a little bit manic or something…
The photo is a recycled one from a few months ago, just showing my collection, clearly it's not what I used today; I'm not THAT smitten...
Go well, my friends, stay well...
The Post of my First Shave..., it was titled 'I'm SCARED!'
First razor arrived today (Burrell Top Flight). I was a bit worried before, but NOW!!!
This is stupidly sharp, I'm not sure I can put it anywhere near my face, I think I'll just lock it away and forget I even considered I could do something so stupid. One guy here shaved his whole face TWICE first time!!!
I think I'll just look at it and polish it (very carefully)...
COOOOL looking razor though, about 55 bucks, seems VERY sharp (as you might infer from my remarks above). Might buy another from that guy...to polish and look at...
Razor: Burrell (my first razor)| Cream: Proraso my first ‘real’ cream | After Shave: Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave (my first liquid cream aftershave)

Thanked: 485No, these days it's just Rammstein for the workouts only (or System of a Down or even Pearl Jam) but at the moment it's almost always The Brian Jonestown Massacre; generally every day on the way to work...
Have you heard Eddie Vedder's Ukelele album? It's really cool...
They're addictive, aren't they? I wear them every day at work. I wear only vintage ones...I think I've got 15 pairs or something...
I love standing before my freshly ironed shirt at night and thinking "Now, what cuff links shall I wear tomorrow..."
Nice bowl!
Good morning to you too! I've tried a dip pen but didn't have any luck. I should keep trying...Last edited by carlmaloschneider; 06-06-2012 at 09:11 AM.
