Greetings Gentlemen,
This is a really cool thread, it is neat to see what everyones other hobbies are. I saw a few fellow musicians in there!
I had a great shave today, I used my new Stahly Live Blade that I picked up last Friday. It was in really nice condition, and is my favorite version of the Stahly, the all metal one. I had done a quick shave with it once before the day I got it but today's shave was the first true go at it. It definitely takes some getting used to, as your weilding what feels like a vibrating pound of metel with a razor on top! Although, I think there actually is something to the whole vibrating gimick, because the shave was really nice! I am still getting used to it, so I did nick myself a few times, but nothing serious.
Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I broke up this morning, so this was sort of a farwell shave. I chopped off my gotee that I'd been growing for the last couple days as a symbolic gesture. lol. Although, I feel the breakup is for the best.
The Shave
Pre: Hot Shower/ Apricot Face Scrub
Razor: Stahly Live Blade w/ Feather
Brush: Kingsley Badger (I think I am finally getting the hang of it, and the stink is fading!)
Cream: EJ Sandalwood
Bowl: Vintage Stoneware
Post: Thayer's/ L'Occitane ASB
Colonge: TOBS Jermyn Street (I love the smell of that stuff!)
The Hobby
I have been playing bass for about 7 years. I have played in a few different bands, although I have not been giging as much as I did in highschool. I still play with my old bandmates. I also started teaching lessons earlier this year, which hasn't taken off, but I am hoping to find some more students in the future. Music is also, atleast for now, the career that I am planning on going into. I would like to be a teacher at a college or university. I don't know yet though, we'll see how it all works out. This is my newest and nicest bass, I recieved it last summer. It is made by Carvin who is predominantly a direct-order custom instrument builder. So this bass was built to my specs.
It has a:
Swamp Ash body
5 peice Maple and Koa neck
Birdseye Maple fingerboard
Active Electronics
Two Hum Canceling Jazz Pickups
Gold Hardware
Abalone Inlays
Hope everyone has a good day,
Chance

This was a great shave. The Trumper's Shave cream lathered up incredibly and was thick and creamy. The razor performed wonderfully. I really enjoyed tonight's shave.
Since it is hobby week, I took the time to take my camera off Auto and work the F-Stop and shutter speed and ISO. I played with the depth of field a bit and thought the pictures came out ok. Hope you like it.....
Two photographs, same F-Stop and shutter speed, the top photo is ISO 100 the bottom ISO 200.
