Thanked: 13249CCW SOTD
Ok don't fall outta no chairs, I am not switching to DE's I happened upon this one yesterday at a very out of the way Antique shop after the Gun Club yesterday morning...
The price I got it for is almost embarassing, so I slapped in a blade and gave it a run, not bad
Razor: Gillette (Made in Canada) open comb
Blade: Tiger (Czech)
Shave Cream: Devon and Spencer "Spice" sample (Thanks Garrit)
Brush: Dubl Duck restrored w/24 mm Silvertip
Scuttle: Georgetown
Aftershave: Brut
Yes Carl I have a few Gun hobbies, that was a good guess
This believe it or not is my around the ranch CCW or just open carry weapon, my only real concern out here is walking out, and into a Bear or Moose so I want something with a bit of snap behind it... S&W Model 629-3 .44 mag and yes I do still have Black Talons in most of my carry weapons.. this is 1of 4 of my favorite set of handguns.. Smith made this configuration in .44 mag .44 Special .41 mag and .357 mag it took me 10 years to aquire all 4, the 2 in the middle were rather rare and hard to find...
Great pics so far gents, I have always loved the "Hobby Themed" weeks, it lets everyone get to know each other a bit better...Last edited by gssixgun; 06-04-2012 at 02:31 PM.

Today it's my mother's birthday and we're going out for dinner. Wish her a happy birthday from the whole team ar SRP.
cut myself! :-( Happens to everyone at some point. Give it time to heal.

Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad
Scuttle: Robert Becker large
Razor: Frugier Annonay, 6/8 hollow round point
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Herbal Chypre home made splash
Notes: Lovely 2-pass shave, smooth and comfortable. Great suds, smooth razor and a great splash. Which leads into today's hobby theme:
Today's hobby was directly influenced by wet shaving: Perfume making. In my case it is more about making after shave splashes than perfumes, although I do dabble a little in perfumes as well. The creation of perfumes is all about mixing essential oils and absolutes, and commercial actors also use a lot of chemicals. I wanted to get away from the chemicals, so I decided to make my own. It has all the requirements for a good hobby; loads to learn, easy to get going and very hard to get "just right".
In the picture are some of the oils needed to make my after shave splash of the day, a herbal chypre. It is a classic fragrance, developed originally for women but has expanded over the last century. Today it is used by both men and women, men's choices often are leather chypres, woody chypres or herbal chypres, whereas women often will wear floral or green chypres. Examples of men's chypres would be Esencia Loewe by Loewe (herbal chypre), YSL pour Homme Haute Concentration by Yves Saint Laurent (leather chypre), or Antaeus by Chanel (woody chypre).

I bet that's record! The very first post gets to be the featured shave of the day! I can imagine. I'll try to follow the theme the next time!
