Thanked: 0Dear Gentlemen,
this, I believe, is my very first post to this forum! I couldn't figure out a better way or my first post to be "shave of the day".
I don't know whether you have to follow the theme or not. I've been shaving with a shavette for a year or so but I've been longing for a real straight razor! For my 21st birthday on the 14th of May my parents bought me a real straight razor, woohoo! I've know stropped it plenty of times and only shaved 4 or 5 times.. My stropping technique is.... How shall I put this.. It can get better, a lot better!
But I am looking forward to a whole shaving life with this straight razor!
Today it's my mother's birthday and we're going out for dinner. This morning I started polishing some black leather boots I'm going to wear tonight - they got a reaaaally nice shine! I then ironed my shirt and stropped my razor. Then it's time for some shaving!
Prep: Nice hot shower
Razor: Edwin Jagger
Cream: The Body Shop - Maca Root
Mug: some random coffee mug
AS: Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood
I then threw some brylcreem in my hair to look real niceUnfortunately I cut myself during my 2nd pass! Someone dropped some kind of a huge piece of metal making an incredible loud sound in the backyard right through my open window! I got a huge schock and cut myself! :-(
Luckily I've something called "Den Standser Blodet" translated into something like "this stops the blood". It's just aluminium chloride. And it hurts like hell, haha!
Well, today I'm taking a break from the examins preparation and am just going to watch some French Open and then meet for dinner with my parents and siblings!
I hope you'll have a nice day gentlemen!

Thanked: 485You can pretty much do what you want, really, as far as I can tell, at least they let me, anyhow...
Welcome!
...And why is everyone talking about black boots all of a sudden? These are on my shopping list for tax time...

Prep: Insanity, week 2 day 1 + Hot shower Strop: SRD premium fabric x50, red latigo x 100 Razor: Dovo "Carpe Diem" Brush: Thater 4292-4B Uber: MWF + Musgo + glycerin Post: Alum + OS Classic Result: DFS, as usual with this blade
As for hobbies... I'm a bit of a gun nut (seems par for the course here). While I wanted to do a nice artsy shot with a razor and a pistol, unfortunately I could not, since everything is locked up for our adoption home visit today (things must be locked up). So, I must setting for providing a "family portrait" of sorts.
