Because i have been waiting on this razor for a few days, i decided not to shave so i had a good amount of beard to test this NOS Japanese razor out, well she arrived yesterday, i honed and stropped the razor yesterday, well she certainly delivered today a two pass super smooth shave as i expected to be honest, my expectations of anything Japanese that have a sharp edge as always been high and this one proved no exception, another fine blade from Japan.
    Jamie,
    Amazing razor!
    Congratulations to the new acquisitions!

One of my hobbies is building things, I made the stand in this and all my other pics. I like to build them for friends and family.

I must say that I am utterly impressed with ALL the hobbies on here. Speedster that is one heckuva coffee machine!

Another of my hobbies, taking photos. It's pretty much limited to razor pics and photos of the family though.
To be honest I know nothing about real photography.
All my photos are taken with this $100 point and shoot camera. I'd love to learn more about the technical side if photography and get myself a better camera. One day...

Loving the themed week boys, keep 'em coming.

I was going to write "You take really great pictures for such a basic setup!", then I realized that what I want to say is "You take really great pictures!"

They're good for close ups (with the Rolleinar lens) and also portraits. The lens is really on the softer side of being really sharp, but if you look at Bailey's eyes ion the first picture you can see it's pretty sharp, as is the vodka in the glass...

Box cameras are good too, and with a fixed shutter speed take one variable out of the equation. Ilford HP5 400 ISO Black and White film is really forgiving; you can over expose and under expose quite a bit and still get a pleasing result. Then you need to learn this, and you're all set!
Thanks Carl, and thanks for the link too. Fascinating stuff.
I really admire the skills of actual photographers, I know i'd really enjoy it if I got into it.
Gotta be careful, could lead to another obsession...
