    No shave today

Today, I hit the first of many goals this year, and am down 15 pounds in the last 5 weeks. My wife has lost over 5 in the last 3 weeks as well.

To celebrate, I ordered up my first custom, via Brian Brown. Should be here this weekend...which should also be just in time to enjoy my dirty bird

    Happy Hump Day, gents!

    Default Vintage Bliss!!!

    Wednesday's Vintage bliss was:

Vintage Old Spice Soap in the original container, whipped up in a 2 quart restaurant mixing bowl saved from the GoodWill
24mm Whipped Dog silvertip (I love Larry's Knots)
Pinaud Clubman (What a great vintage scent)
Canoe EdT (Goes great with the Pinaus Clubman scent, gently lingers for a long time)
5/8" Spike wedge (Wednesday from my 7 day set (Thanks again Tom))

As usual, the spikes just deliver. These small wedges were the best modern wedges (near wedge, depends on your mindset) made, IMO. I have an entire collection of Union Cutlery Wedges, and every one of them just deliver.

The old spice, when handled correctly lathers and lubricates well. The scent goes well with my Old Spice Deodorant and makes lathering up a real treat.

Pinaud went on without any sting, which just goes to show the quality of the edge on the Spike. Smooth as silk, but sharp, sharp, sharp!.

    Have a great Wednesday men!!

    SOTD
    Preparation: Scrubbed my Mug
    Pre-shave: Castle Forbes (1st pass)
    Cream: CO Bigelow
    Balm: Skincado
    AS: Vintage Old Spice
    Brush: Omega 'Little Chubby'
Razor: Wade & Butcher ~7/8 Extra Hollow Ground

Wow, so I got a delivery today, my first W&B. I cleaned it up a bit but mainly concentrated on honing it. I never really honed any smiling type razors. I could not get the heel side straight but the rest honed up just fine. I did a two pass shave which went fairly well. First, The CO Bigelow is really starting to grow on me. I could not stand the eucalyptus smell at first but find it sort of soothing now. When I finished up I had a silky smooth face. When I splashed on the OS I barely had any sting at all. I finished up with the Skincado. I think I am gonna buy a lifetime supply of this stuff. Does not smell divine but it does a great job of reducing any inflammation and healing the skin. Overall, I really liked the razor. I am not sure if it was due to it being a larger size or just because it was a W&B. This was the first razor have used larger than a 6/8. Well, good day gents. As always, great to see all the sweet pics.

Prep: Touch Up Hone, Hot Shower
    Razor: Texas Shumate
    Brush: Semogue 2000
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Finish: Nitro Eau De Cologne
Results: Edge on the razor was good but requires some work to duplicate the WOW factor of the Imperial last evening. I finished the shave well after midnight and couldn't help but think of the Wilson Pickett song Wait 'til the Midnight Hour
