No shave yesterday. It was Canada Day. (Our dog was throwing himself into the spirit of things).

Today was another holiday so another shave on the learning curve was completed with no nicks or cuts and VERY smooth.

Only issue was that the blade "bit" my right thumb at the very end.

Yeah, I DO like Body Shop Macca root. I think that cream will lather with no water at all! And it's reasonably natural-ish; I'm pretty sure from memory that it doesn't contain SLS etc...

Oh happy Canada day. I've like every Canadian I've ever met; they fit very well into Australian culture, and I reckon I'd fit in quite well there...

    Tuesday

No shave today. I’m on holidays PLUS I’m waiting for my new soap PLUS it was too cold to shave anyway, as evidenced by the photo of the ice on my car’s roof racks. I know frosty weather is run of the mill for you folks up there in the northern climes, but for us here this certainly is cold. Two buckets of water on the window to get the ice off and I still had to sit there for ten minutes and wait for the heater to defrost it some more. When you throw two buckets on and it still freezes that’s cold by my standards. Or when you go outside and keep saying “F&*K” over and over again, and “This is just STUPID!” and sort of growling. You know what I mean. Everyone sort of grows when it's really cold. You go "Grrrr". You do, don't you?

The day was spent taking Bailey, my grandson, to the hospital for x-rays and a visit to the bone surgeon. His fibula (which is now in his arm replacing the humorous, which was removed due to a bone tumour) STILL hasn’t knitted to what’s left of his humorous, and it’s now about 5 months! So ANOTHER operation needed! We were trying to work out how many operations he’s had in the last 12 months. We believe it’s 7 or 8 coming up, but we aren’t sure. It’s ridiculous that we don’t know; and we stopped counting blood transfusions ages ago. The left arm is now about two inches shorter that the right and it may get more pronounced. The doctor feels the fibula may not have been as well vascularised as it should have been (i.e some of the blood vessels they took with the bone may not be operating). I tell you all this simply because I find the marvels of modern medicine astonishing.

Bailey’s coping very well, considering, but he did tell me today at the hospital that he hates this place and that fire extinguishers are ‘boring’. He’s been using ‘boring’ to refer to all bad things lately; which is fair enough, really. He equates fire extinguishers with hospital, so is generally negative about them whenever he sees one. I guess he's not going to be a fireman when he grows up...
