Nice shave today! Two slow and easy passes with and against the grain. Of note, this was my first shave on the go. I decided to leave central VA for an impromptu trip. The power was out and likely not to be back on for awhile. I headed south to see some family. One visit took me to my uncle, a barber for some thirty years. I showed him two of my razors which he examined with a thumb nail test. He declared that 'They were not right.' I wanted to pick his brain some but he was in relaxation mode-drinking some grain alcohol and watching the races. So no luck there. Anyway, I still managed to get a good shave today. I forgot to pack some ASB or Splash but made do without it. The combo of PDP and Thayer's left a nice silky feeling. G'nite all.

FYI:
We drove 3500 miles.
The JEEP is a very good car!
Next year I'll get a Cherokee instead of BMW X5.

No shave for the last couple of days. I tried the De Pews but it wasn’t up to the whole job by itself, so I also employed the Wade & Butcher for a second pass ATG. I’d just finished a basketball game with Joel, so that, together with a nice hot shower and some Sukin natural facial moisturiser cream made a great preparation. I took a long time with the shave today; my longest for some time.
The Scodioli after shave was just the thing for afterwards, but again I had trouble with the soap. It goes very thin on my face as I strop; I need to face lather some more before shaving after stropping. Maybe I’m just a bit spoilt by creams?
I need to decide what to take camping. I think maybe the De Pews, with the Arko stick? My one and only brush, and I need to buy a little mirror; on a stand...
And now it's time for some Barrossa Valley Shiraz...

In honor of Spain's historic win in UEFA 2012's Euro Cup tournament yesterday, I decided to feature the four final teams in my shave. I hadn't used a boar brush in a while, and don't have much from Portugal, so the Semogue was an easy choice. Similarly, I'm a bit thin on Spanish options - either a Filly or La Toja, but who could resist that Manatiales soap? The German choice was easy because the Wacker was feeling abandoned in the back of the shave den. And after vetiver yesterday, the Lorenzo Villoresi was a no brainer! The lather today from the Manantiales was quite possibly the best I've gotten from this exceptional soap! And I was left CBS after two passes.
Have a great day, gentlemen!
