    SOTD
    7/3/2012
    Preparation: Warm Towel and Splash
    Pre-shave: Castle Forbes
    Razor: Torrey Extra Hollow 5/8
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Soap: Mme Scodioli Hierophant
    AS: Clubman

Have not used the Torrey in a bit. It gave me a decent finish. I only did a one passer. Sort of. Anyway, I took my time to get all the nooks and crannies. The bottom of my neck was going to be stubborn though. The soap left my face feeling ultra smooth. Loved the shave even if it was not perfect.

    Razor: Gotta 13/16
Strop: 30/60 Neil Miller Linen/ Legion kangaroo
    Brush: Simpson Berkeley
    Soap: Palmolive stick
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva
Result: Gave the Gotta a new finish on my new Okudo Karasu that Birnando kindly helped me aquire. When I picked it up on wednesday he also gave me a quick tutorial as I have no experience with JNats what so ever. If the results are supposed to get better as I get to know my stone and improve my skills with it I'm honestly not sure what to expect, the edge on the Gotta was extremely mellow and comfortable, without doubt one of the best shaves in my book.

Today was spent with a nice hike up to Mardalsfossen which is claimed (I say claimed because there are some disagreements about the height) to be the tallest single drop in Northern Europe, and the 4. tallest in the world. The total drop is 645 meters, and the tallest single drop being 320 meters according to World Waterfall Database
They can argue all they want for me, I still had a great hike, and the waterfall is tall, wet and noisy

Here's a shot of the view from Vistdalsheia, the mountain we had to drive over to get to Eikesdalen where Mardalsfossen is located.

Back after another ten days of travel with canned foam and a disposable Schick. First straight shave this morning was very satisfying, with three days' growth cleanly wiped away:

    Hot shower
Homemade scuttle (photos tomorrow or Thurs.)
    Mama Bear's Olde Barbershop
    Conk badger
Dovo Special 5/8 (Every time I use this razor, I am reminded what a terrific shaver it is.)
    Illinois 127 strop, 20/60
    Brüt a/s

    DFS, BBS!

Happy and Safe July 4th holiday to my fellow Yanks!

Hopefully Bailey has a few good times along the way. Sorry to hear about his arm, hope they get it sorted ASAP.

Yeah, he likes the play therapist and he has a lot of friends there; a LOT of the staff know him. There are positives, he's a very caring boy...

Yeah, 32t (Tim) sent me a link to where I can buy one; I've never seen one before, it doesn't get that cold very often, just several times a year, so they wouldn't be sold around here! Maybe I could use a plastic egg flip (spatula)?
