Thumbs up Sun July 29th - Sat August 04rd

    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: Alba 50
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
    Soap: B&B
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB: Nivea sensitive
    EDC: B&B

My computer froze like a few hours ago. Tried to re-boot with no image or beeps. Made my heart stop for a second. After an hour pulling stuff out, measuring the PSU and trying different things I finally found the culprit. My graphic card is dead. So time to go visit Fry's tomorrow. Very frustrating and time consuming if you ask me. The positive is I had a great shave today. Invigorating scent from both the soap and cologne. A super sharp Alba blade to boot. At least it made up for all the frustration of today's hardware experience.

Enjoy the last days of July and let's get rocking for August. Wishing y'all a superb new week.

Nice patina. Glen posted a restore of a similar one of these here in horn that looks nice too.

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

    Razor: Weltmeister
    Soap: Castle Forbes, Lime
    AS: Mennen Skin Bracer

Fantastic little razor and actually it was even better than my large Otto B Weltmeister ... or I had a lucky day, but it's a sweet blade never the less.

Thanks Carl! I bought mine several years ago from Sham (hi_bud_gl).
...but the posted WB by Glen is very, very nice! Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

    Sunday

No shave for a couple of days.

The shave was with the De Pews, that I forced a patina on today with a warm vinegar and lemon juice mix. Very nice look. However, of course, the forcing of the patina caused a degradation of the edge, so even after a heap of laps on the Shapton 16k, and the benefit of the blackened edge to let me know how evenly the edge was being honed it’s still a way off where it was before. I like the new look, though.

Thank you. The treatment worked OK I think. I should have documented it better (i.e.measured the ingredients). I'm lusting after a couple of original condition Framebacks that a particular fellow who lives in Sweden and who likes coffee has...

Don't ever polish that W&B, will you? You don't own it you know, you're just a custodian... :-)
