    Monday

Burrell Top Flight day today. I need to take this to the Shapton again, the edge is worse than it was before my recent touch up. Oh well, we don’t always get it right, do we?

The Überlather was almost the same as Yesterday’s, no, wait, it WAS the same as yesterday’s, in fact, only the razor has changed…

Razor: Burrell Top Flight | Überlather: Mike’s Eucalyptus and Lemongrass soap. O Melhor/Glycerine | After Shave: Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar

How was the shave? It had been a few months since I had used a heavier grind, and, after my first stroke, I had to check to feel if it was actually cutting hair. It was. Smooth and quiet. Not perfect, there's some getting to know each other to do. I'm still getting the hang of using straights and the lower jimps helped me keep a grip on this piece of steel. Two passes and some touch-up. This wasn't a fickle and capricious blade. It had done this before.

Thank you. It was lying around Robert Williams work shop for sometime. Every time I went there I would look at it lovingly. Robert was kind of enough to allow me to be the next care taker.

    Dovo 55 | Semogue 2011 Boar | Arko | Lucido | Antæus (Vintage)

A great shave for a Monday morning. I don't think about the Arko unless I'm traveling, but it is such a good product for the pennies per shave it costs. And the Dovo 55 is a legend in its own right. If you ever happen upon one, do not hesitate to pull the trigger. Of course, the Maxterpiece scales make this one an even more proud member of my very modest shave den.

    Monday
Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso pre-post creme
    Brush: AOS Badger
    Scuttle: G5 w/cold water
    Soap: Proraso
Razor: J.H. Becker 11/16" Spike point
    Post: Proraso AS
Result: (Sounds of angels singing) I can't think of a better way to start the week. A little warm this morning so I went with the all proraso shave and cold water in the scuttle. If this combo doesn't wake you up, you need to call off for the day! Creamy, abundant lather and cool menthol, 3 passes later I am BBS and feeling like a king!

Nice Pictures Bill! (Modest shave den my a**)

Keep on trying Carl, that Burrell is a great shaver. BTW how's the new job? You sounded less than enthused before vacation and no word since. Hope it is bearable.
